View Full Version : Fan motor dead, common problem??

my fan motor has been acting funny for several months, now dead. Any thoughts?? I have not checked the fuse yet, but I suspect it is fine based on the funny operation for months. Anyone know if the fan ever runs on full 12volts??? Thnx for good replies.

I have 5 panthers and have replaced 2 blower motors since fall. Both 03 and 70k on the clock. Not expensive to replace.

Try tapping the blower control module behind the passenger side cyl head on the firewall. They are common to fail.

+1. I tapped mine back in july or so. STILL hasn't acted up again :)

same here on a road trip this summer my 04 it just quit! same thing hit the housing started working again and has never been a problem since! But now that I say it I wont have heat tommorow..

Same here. My blower gave out and gave it a couple of taps. Blower started up and had no prblems ever since. I checked a thread and I believe someone posted pictures of where to tap it.

I think the BCM is more problematic in the heat, atleast for me.

I tapped mine a few months ago and haven't had a problem since. It is amazing the information you can get on this site. I have saved a ton of money!

I'd guess it's the BCM.

The BCM and EATC are two very common issues, as I'm finding out myself right now. :rolleyes:
