Wow!! I can't believe how much those plates auctioned for. Especially an ordinary plate like "COOLDAD" went for $4,500. Interesting auction.
James;
Place a hyphen between the two sets of letters, I don 't think that counts as a "letter", XXX-XXXX.

I wonder what SUGRDAD went for then? :rolleyes:
Up to seven characters plus a dash, $10 bux extra in VA...
Finding a open two digit combo is tough, has to be letters...

SC offers 7 characters (letters, numbers, spaces, or the "&"), $24.00 one time fee, and a choice of up to three choices per application.
I ended up with 03RAUDR.

In NY you can get up to eight characters. The TX pricing looks close to NY's.
I just changed mine from "MRAUDR" to "EVILMERC" on the last renewal!

NYS pricing just isn't worth it to me for a car thats not even on the road 6 months a year. They did store my old plate so I don't have to buy those fugly blue/gold ones that the blind one came up with. :puke: hideous lookin things.

wow, NOT in Maryland, where you pay the "fee" for personalized plates EVERY time at renewal--our SB is $230 every two years; Escape is $178 every two years. We also just heard the possibility that tag renewal may increase by 50%. NUTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love the plates, but as above, personalized plates in NYS are not worth what it costs to have them.

I am kinda stuck with mine...... Everything in NY is expensive Ray. I have all my old style plates from years past. Wonder how much I could sell those for?

Don't know. DMV stored my old plates so I would not have to buy the fugly new ones this spring/summer, when ever I get the car out. I thought that was decent of them.

Yeah, I think they will store them up to 8 months or something like that. I got tired of taking a car off, putting it back on, all the damn mumbo jumbo we have to go through between DMV and Insurance. I just keep all five of them on all year.
No wonder I am going broke.
