Just curious if anyone is using the Continental DWS extreme contacts? I spoke with my supplier who went to a ride and drive comparing various tires and he stated these were the ****nit. Any thoughts? Thanks for your time.

I recommended them to my mom for her '03 Grand Am GT last year. They made a world of difference on her car, which is important as she lives in the heart of Ohio's "snow belt". On top of that, they ride quiet and the wear warranty seems to be great.

I've been running them on the rear for over 2 years, the wear is fantastic, numbers are better than the OEM's, the style I have are discontinued, so I'm going to Yokohama's when they wear out.

Yeah, Tony, we run the CrossContactUHP (which are great tires), but those are much different in tread pattern than the Extreme Contact DWS.
mnxtrik8r, again, based on my mom's experience with the ECDWS, I recommend the tires.

Just installed 4 245/50/20 Hankook Ventus AS RH07's on the wife's 2007 Charger R/T. Handles and rides better than on the stockers.

The BFGs are gone and I was looking to replace with something different. These Continentals seem like a decent option. The reviews seem good, and the vendor told me if I didnt like them, he would give me full credit toward something else. I don't think I can lose. Sounds like they will be off backorder in 3-4 weeks. They are Z rated, decent sidewall and bead protection. Sizes are stock on the front and 255 on the rear. We will see what happens.

i wanted to put them on my car yesterday but they are on nation wide back order right now(or so i was told) so i had to put the *****y bfg's on my MM. Other than that I have heard nothing but the best about the tires.

Those backorders stink! I checked with the factory about a month ago and they stated a production start of March 1st. The rear BFGs are bald as a babys butt, the front BFGs have the MM syndrome (which was cured last fall). Now all I need is for the several feet of snow to melt, the roads to become free of salt and sand, and then it is time for the fun to begin.

I sell a ton of them on various cars, no complaints yet.

Resurrecting an older thread, but I just got a set of these tires for my 2000 Grand Marquis with MM wheels two days ago. The harder rubber seems to squeal very easily if you get on them too hard while turning at an intersection. Went with 245/45 front & 255/55 rear. The tire place gave me a hard time about the front not being as high of a service rating, 96 vs 97. The difference is only 40lbs of load capacity. I should have stuck with the MM size of 235/50, but was concerned about the poor life span this tire size had previously. So I thought I'd give a similar size a try.
First thing that I noticed is that they are pretty quite on the highway compared to the Toyo Proxies ST II's that they replaced. BTW, those tires wore very evenly, got about 45k on them. The previous size of 255/50 all around was just too big in the front. I hit a pothole hard and the tire pulled the fender lip down. Also, the rubber would rub on the sway bar and frame when turning at the extremes.
I chose these tires based on the high reviews for handling light snow with an all season tire. Not sure if I can afford a dedicated set of snow tires this year. Blew my whole tax return on eight tires for my car and my wife's Jeep.
