Thanks everyone for your welcome. :)

Most of the vic's are titled, as I am about to go through the process. They all have vin #'s, each state has different inspection requirements. So it is a paper work & emissions test process.

If you don't mind me asking, how much, we've seen them advertised for up to $20,000?

Thanks again for all the welcomes.

I was able to do a test session today & found the car to be very compliant. Stiff ride on the bumpy back roads at low speeds, but very smooth on the highways. Car handles & turns in very nicely. Drive train is super smooth & quite. Roush did a nice job when he built these. All features work, even the cassette player. :)

Amazing what a black vic can do to part the seas while driving in the left lane & holding traffic back driving in the right lane. :D

My files are too big to post here, so you will have to hit my flicker account.

Enjoy

Wouldn't that be sweet!!! :burnout:

Those are the halon tanks for the on board fire system. These cars were built for safety, cage, harnesses, racing seat, nets, fuel cell, fire system.

Hopefully the windows are up when the car is on fire or that's a waste of money. Cool car, though!

Thanks, car is awesome.

Halon works on the principle of inhibiting the chain reaction of fuel, heat & oxygen. The suppression effect of halon is due to its interference in the fire chemical inhibition. Windows need not be closed for a halon system to be effective. Most notably in formula & sprint cars that have no windows to close. :flamer: Couldn't resist :)

Nice. Love the front bumper cover...very Cobra-esque. Is that a Police Interceptor badge on the trunk?

Bondurant sent 18 Police Interceptors to Roush for the Cobra conversion. The front fascia is built just for these cars. Records show that the conversion was 40K for each car, plus the cost of the vic, brings the initial investment for each Cobra Vic around 70K.

I used to tell fire fighters I trained that Halon worked on the principle of P.F.M. (Pure ****ing Magic). It is a suppression system, one of its disadvantages is that it is not a cooling agent, so the possibility of a re-flash is high if you dump it out in the open where it can dissipate quickly. Neat car tho, I guess a system is better than no system for peace of mind.

Yes, they do have that affect in these parts :). Driving lights, chrome wheels....window nets (!)...it doesn't matter....its all about that silhouette I suppose.....can hold other up traffic for a mile (or surprise the ones who aren't paying attention and then all of a sudden they notice you and WHAM, lane change/brake tap/you-name-it...)...I can only imagine for some CSP and locals its fish-in-a-barrel for infractions based on the amount of unintentional "wake up" calls my non-cop car has passed along to distracted drivers....

Congrats on the ride....be interesting to see how DMV handles you bringing it to the roads...

Best,
Jonathan
