Installing my sw headers. Please tell Me how to remove dip stick Assy. I got the two mounting locations removed and tube is rotated away from block. How does it come out!
Need to know Asap.....

You need to remove the motor mount Babb's. It will pull straight out.

As long as both mounting locations are unbolted, it should pull straight up from its location in the hole. There should be an o ring around the tube to seal it. That o ring may be holding it in. Do not bend back and forth and be careful not to bust your knuckles when it pulls free.

You guys are awesome thanks! Was warm here yesterday -- now it's a blizzard outside. Got the kero heater cranked up. It's about 48 in my garage....

I just cut that center cross bridge off the header. Much easier to deal with!

I just cut that center cross bridge off the header. Much easier to deal with!do just this and you don't need to loose the motor mounts for nothing. It's 78* here.

He's putting a flexible Lokar dip stick tube back on so cutting the header flange is NOT necessary.

When it was time to remove the oil dip stick it helps to have another set of hands. Some one up top to pull another under the car with a flat head screw driver. Were the dip stick enters the block there is a slight bulge. Place the screw driver between the bulge on the stick were it enters the block. Use the screw driver for leverage to remove while helper pulls stick upwards.
