I've been a member here for a long time now and this site has been the best car forum I've ever logged on to. I remember back in the day we use to contribute to a fund to help other members when their engine's were blow. I've bought and sold parts to alot of people and all were good transactions. I have had no complaints with any of these parts they were all reliable and affordable.
My experience has recently changed, recently I put out a WTB ad for stock control arms http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=68560
As most of you know I need the stock CA's to make my Musclemerc CA's so when I get a response to the ad I normally jump right on it. I always pay $40.00 for a full set but because I needed them ASAP I sent a little more.
Blackvic P71 responded to my thread, he got paid the same day he PM'ed me. Decided to ship the goods a full week later but I did'nt *****, anyway I recently opened the package and inspected the goods and my mouth hit the floor. The parts he sent me were severly corroded and honestly they looked like they have been sitting at the bottom of the ocean. So I shoot him a PM and he did'nt respond, after a week or so I filed a dispute with paypal and his reply was "I did'nt ask for a picture of the goods and as far as he was concerned the refund I requested was not gonna happen". Maybe he's right, but what do you guy's think? Are these worth $45.00?
Dont worry I will not use these for any of my CA's, their's nothing here to weld. Maybe this is the norm for the CV guy's but around here we look out for each other and don't rip other member's off. If you needed the money that bad you could have just asked for it.
Shame on you Blackvic P71 :flamer:

Well, some just aren't trustworthy. I know from experience.
It's nice to help out members but you have to look out for yourself also.
In the future I wouldn't send payment until I have the goods in hand.
You just never know.

I sware most CVers are the worst. I put my stock maf for 20 bucks shipped and had about 3 of them try to get it cheaper. Like really?

I think a lot of members here are great to deal with. I've bought and sold here with no complaints. I was a seller in a case similar to this. I was selling two rear tires to a member and we had already agreed on a price. When I had them dismounted we found a screw in one of them. Right away I offered a discount on the tire. He still bought them and was happy with the tires. Honesty is the best policy!

Its sad...but these days it seems you have to spell out what you want and how you want them, instead people try to take advantage and sell you junk.

Duh! If they had money they would have a Marauder instead of the CV or GM.
Don't get me wrong some guys are pretty good but it's the bad ones giving the good ones the wrong stereotype deal.

Shame on you Blackvic P71 :flamer:
What a shame. I agree. But one look at his posting history over the past 18 months shows that of 43 posts more than 90% are in the "Want to Buy" or "Want to Sell" category. Blackvic_P71 is only here to see what he can get .... or sell. Doesn't look like he is into the social aspects of the MM.Net. Based on this history alone, I would have been very cautious in any dealings with him.

I checked when he was back on the site and it was on the 19th. Let's see if he makes it right here and then we'll know whether or not to trust him any further. That info should have been disclosed up front in my opinion, Atleast that is what I would have done.
Blackvic_P71... Trust is all we have out here. I think you have an opportunity to make this right.
This is a great site and 99% of the people are trustworthy. I hope this guy will fall in the 99% when it is said and done. We'll see. Keep us posted muslcemerc!

Let's hope he makes it right with you; if not, maybe we need to start a PM/e-mail campaign to "encourage" him to come around... ;)

Hmmm, those are nasty. I have to find my OEMs to see if they look that bad after 4 years in the snow belt. He should have said something about the condition, I sure would have.

Good Morning,
Like most paypal users, I use a credit card to backup
paypal's decisions if they are not acceptable, such as
what has happened to you.
May I suggest you call your CC company and dispute
through them. I seem to get much better results from
them than PP. Just suggesting an alternative, in hopes you are able to resolve this to your satisfaction.
Best of luck in this

Depending on what year the car they came off of. Mine after 3 winters just looked like they need a quick pass over with a wire brush/wheel and would be good as new.

Even though you didn't ask for a picture of the goods, the warranty of merchantability is implied, unless expressly disclaimed by name, or the sale is identified with the phrase "as is" or "with all faults." To be "merchantable", the goods must reasonably conform to an ordinary buyer's expectations, i.e., they are what they say they are. (quoted from Wikipedia)
Those control arms are most definitely not suitable for use...indeed they could be dangerous to use as is, so the product was obviously mis-represented. The bad news is you are out the $45 as it would cost you many times that to recover anything, and the seller most likely knew that.
The good news is that he won't be selling anything through THIS site any longer...

Wow Travis, I've only had two bad dealings, one was for my window vents that had large chunks missing from where they mount but I was so PO'd that I didn't even wanna bother with the ass. The other, well most of us already know that one. BUT, that guy paid BIG TIME to make things right! Heck, I can't wait to help him with his projects. Thats the way things need to stay around here. I have way too much trust in people, atleast here it is almost never an issue. I have sent out quite a few parts the day I recieve a PM, sometimes DAYS before I get a payment!! Not a big deal to me.. I take more pride in making sure they get their parts fast and they are happy with them.
Give him time to read this and realize his credibilty can and will be fine here if he simply coughs up the measly $45... That is chump change to protect your name!

Honestly this is why I'm a mm member and not a cv member. Its alot different in this forum then alot of other car forums. Plus this group is more older, dedicated, buisness minded, and alottttaaaa love :D
I hope you come out with some type of gain bro.

Musclemerc, if blacksheep doesn't need my control arms in a month when mine are replaced, I will sell them to you. I'll send pictures before you decide. I've always wanted a marauder and I would hate to see someone else loose theirs because they can't get it fixed. Hope you understand.
