OK. I have finally found the time to remove my throttle body to see why my throttle sticks off idle. all I can say is mother of god. 2 cans of carb cleaner and I still ended up in the sink with warm water and soap to get the thing clean. thankfully that did solve my sticking throttle issue but now it leaves me with another question. I have had numerous cars and have never seen a throttle body or intake that dirty in my life. the only cause I can think of is the PCV system. I'm going to buy a catch can for this thing and see how much it will catch. anyone else install one or have another explanation for the build up inside the manifold? is there any way to clean the manifold without removing it?

The oil build up is blowby from the pcv system. A regular catch can will only capture wet oil, a baffled catch can will capture wet oil and oil vapors.
Many members here run my Musclemerc Catch Can.

I pulled my upper & lower intake manifold after 151k miles.... yeah it was nasty. lol
I installed a baffled oil catch can and it works like a charm.

So that's why my throttle has been sticking at tip in, off idle?
Well, that's better than a frayed throttle cable!

that would be my guess. for the cost of a can of carb cleaner its worth giving it a shot before replacing your cable. do yourself a favor and make sure you're wearing eye protection of some kind. carb cleaner in the eyes hurts like a :censor:
