I have a sneaking suspicion that my exhuast has been altered. I think my rear cats have been deleted and that someone may have removed the resonators from my tips. Since I am new to this car I will let the pictures do the talking. Let me know what you think.

I can't really tell by the pics but it looks as if you still have the rear set of cats.

I might have to take some pictures further forward. How close to the muffler are the rear cats?

Not too close. The mid pipe separates them.

The pipes aft of the axle look more like what you would see in a shop and the pipes forward of the cats have a different look, like a different corrosion. Maybe this is because it gets hotter up there. Also the welds on the tips look like a shop did it. In the one picture of the tip you can see an inch long piece of MIG wire.
Also, since I have never seen another marauder in person, I'm not sure how it should sound.

You can have all four cats, yet, not have the actual platinum impregnated ceramic honeycomb iside them. Just hollowed out. That's what I did to mine before the new exhaust. You couldn't tell they were hollow from looking at them. How about a sound clip???
How do you hollow the cats out?

Looks like a stock exhaust to me.

I used a flexible shaft electrians drill bit to put as many 3/4" holes in the honeycomb then started busting the rest out with a tire iron. Used a piece of electricians fishing wire to hook the metal mesh that insulates the ceramic from the cat walls and pulled that with vice grips. PITA! :D

Of course, this was for a pollution experiment in your science class correct?

Air chisel. Mash it all up then start the car and blow it out. I did it on my 94 sonoma.
