I was wondering how many miles per gallon are possible by tuning with a diablosprt programmer. I get around 17 highway now and its starting to eat a hole in my pockets. I dont really step on my car often, its my daily driver and i have my toy on the side for the track. Also was wondering if its possible to tune it to where i can run midgrade gas? All i have done to the car is a K&N intake. Any info is greatly appreciated.

It can be tuned for any octane. If that's what you want to do.
I, for one didn't by my Marauder for the gas mileage.........

You should be getting a little bit better than 17 on the highway.
Supposedly supposed to be getting 23ish.
I'd take a look at possible problems before resorting to a tuner for results.

I get in the low to mid 20's on the highway. Four trips to Myrtle Beach from northern NJ proved that MPG to be accurate. The 17 MPG is more like "around town".
I you really don't buy a 32 valve, V-8 engine for Honda gas economy.

Mine used to get avg 20 on a regular tank, and 23 - 24 on a long trip. Between the tune, the 4.10s, a move to a more urban area, and crappyass ethanolaline, I'm getting about 14 and 20 now. I don't normally drive it, but when I fill up with super, it pains me!
It may be time to rethink the fleet. Right now, I don't have anything without a V8, dual exhaust, and 5 spoke aluminum wheels! I'm thinking a nice 4cylinder Fusion would be a great way to get around most days.

+1
Running OEM 3.55's in both my DTR and my DBP I averaged around 22 mpg on the highway. When I went to 4.10's, mileage dropped maybe 1/2 mpg.
Since the blower installation, I've averaged around 21 mpg, but that's been harder to maintain as I tend to drive less conservatively (boost has a tendency to do that ;)).
This may seem like dumb question, but to the OP, you do use the O/D on the highway, correct?

yep, im drivin with the overdrive on on the highway. when you turn it off it have a green square that says od off.. correct? Maybe i need to just wait till right when my gas light turns on, put one gallon in and hop right on the highway and see how far i get with that one gallon. but yea.. def been thinkin about buyin a single cam motor and a honda shell and puttin it together for a daily driver.. I bought my MM 4 years ago and didn't do much driving, but in the past few months have been driving 100+ miles a day and my pockets are not liking it. Plus i've been hearing that gas prices should be around 5 bucks a gallon by summer. Think its time for a car cover and a honda/toyota.

There is no need to punish and humiliate yourself.
(I'd check out a formerly flogged Ford Focus, Fiesta, Fusion first.)

Agreed.
Anything from the Blue Oval is better than a Honda...

I used to commute 32 miles one way to work and man was always adding gas to the tank. Nice to work close to home now.

If your looking for a tuner get one from one of our vendors and you will be graced with bettermpg and your car will shift a lot better than oem.

Are you sure you are calculating the mpg correctly?
If you get 275 miles to a take and you refuel and put 16 gallons in then you need to divide by how much fuel you actually used and not the total overall tank size.

Like others have said, 17 seems low. I average 17.5 in my commute traffic (yeah for 1.25 hour drive and only travelig 30 miles ). I also have 4.10's a d a heavy foot.
Check your motor, tune up ... Fuel filter ...
