I'm trying to replace the Blower Motor Wheel and what a pain in the butt. I have to wait until the wheel comes in from AutoZone. Then I have to get the a new gasket and hope that this works. This has been one frustrating event tonight.

Was it noisy, why are you replacing just the squirrel cage?

I'm replacing the cage. I hope that is the only thing to replace.

Why? did it stop working? Alot of us had that problem and tapped on the blower housing and started working again have you tried that if that is what the problem is?

I, too, would like to know why you're replacing just the squirrel cage? Never heard of one of those going bad, although my niece had some pine needles and other bits of nature stuck in hers ('98 Malibu) that caused the blower to make a rumbling/roaring sound on higher speeds. I cleaned it all out and it's a lot quieter now.

The cage has a split/crack from the circle straight out. I'll see if I can post pics. I tried all the above and to no avail.

I ordered the part from AutoZone (online only) and it's going to cost me 18.00 total w/ shipping and tax. The cage only ran me $12.00. The dealer wanted $49.00 (crack prices)!!!!
