Hey Dave! MM Idle Air Control??? I've been using an 03/04 Cobra IAC on my BBK for a couple months now. Idles perfect!. They're exactly the same as far as control, electonics, plunger, except the right angle of the connector that has the wire touching the valve cover. Mine froze, so I got this new and cheap! I'm degreasing everything right now. Catchcan for sure! :shake:

Giggity indeed! :D
Been saying it all night! Wife's giving me odd looks! :D

Oh yeah, Big Thanks to George L.!!!! Woohoo!

I think if you spent some more money for a ported blower with all the other goodies you would be much happier:D. Good Luck with the project.

Its always nice to see people getting edgy to start car projects. I'm still shopping for part for my Eaton swap, hoping to start around the same time frame you are. (or when the weather gets nicer) Giggity indeed!

Hey Bill what size pulleys you plan on running ?

RacerX
03-15-2011, 01:28 PM
3.65" upper and 4lb lower to start, then once I have things where I want I'll move to 2.93" upper with the 4lb lower. :D

Started porting. Port matching the Eaton intake plenum first.
This is my 65mm BBK I'm scribing for the template:

looks really good, i always wanted to learn how to port and polish, it looks time consuming. life is busy nowadays.
how long did it take you to do that one side?

Thanks guys! I'd say mock-up, marking, cutting, sanding, polishing, etc. About 2 hours. I've gotten good at it after doing a full P&P on my heads, upper and lower plenums. I'm going to fully port and polish the Eaton (Posi style). Should go nicely with the ported heads! ;)
Oh yeah! That two hours includes finally porting my TB so it doesn't have the sharp intake edges disrupting the airflow as it enters. It's back in my baby at the moment.

Got the injector extenders for my 47lb GT500 injectors that I got CHEAP!!! Makes them standard length.
Standard EV14S GT500 injectors are shorter than the EV6 standard injectors.
EV14's come in xT, K, S and L designations. These are the extenders:

Which part needs welding?
Am I welding this, or are you?

RacerX

Either, should be a fairly quick and perfect job if you do it and I watch. (Casey will jump on that!) I just need to puddle in the indents in the plenum that Ford has there for access to the bolts on the long studs. I'm shortening the studs and can fill in the plenum indents on the outside and then port the inside so it's a smooth run all the way to the blower intake.
These are the areas I need to fill:

That's what she said!
So why do you need to fill those in? Less weight is better is it not?

RacerX
03-22-2011, 07:00 AM
Those areas disrupt airflow quite a bit on the inside. I'll have to take a pic.

Ah, I get it, the dents on the outside are indents on the inside.

OK, I can't feel my hands!!! Porting is a lot of work! This is the before and after on the pressure side of the Eaton.
Rotor Lead-in and any touch ups, etc. will be next weekend!
