For those that got the $2000 cash back...

OK... welll my wheels are turning on how to get my hands on a Marauder.

Question for those that have taken advantage of the $2000 cash back being offered by Mercury. Did the $2000 come off the sticker price - or - was it sent to you in the form of a check after you made your purchase?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Worked my best deal, (2% over invoice) then took off an extra 2K that total. You can get some awesome deals.

Like Piglet, I worked on getting the best deal then had the $2000 taken off the final price. Got the car down to where I'd buy it. L-M should have priced it there in the first place. As first published in all the rags, at $29500 + delivery, I'd have had one of the first. When it came out at $34500 + delivery, I found an '02 CV Sport to take it's place. When they put the rebate on the car, I started shopping for my best deal, I got what I wanted, so the CV was traded. Now I'm a happy camper!

SergntMac, you didn't miss anything when you bought your car. The rebate didn't start until October I believe.

Bought mine in October with the best possible deal, a trade in that was actually a pay-off (2002 Chevy TrailBlazer), got the Kelly Blue Book value for it which was to my advantage, and received the $2,000. Rebate, it all added up to about $29,500. Not bad at all. I'm satisfied.:D

On Nov 5, 2002 Ford added a $500 bonus to the cash back total. (All Ford dealerships get a weekly rebate update - each Tuesday I think.)

I got a $2500 rebate when I picked up mine on Nov 11. Only one dealer of the 4 I was talking to told me about the extra $500.

If memory serves the bonus $500 was going to be available until 1/3/03. To anyone still looking to buy, ask if there is a $500 bonus rebate prior to signing on the dotted line.

The rebate can be sent to you after the sale or better yet, just take it off the final bottom price you negociated with the dealer. Invoice on a Marauder with a 34, 900 window sticker is 32,735.80 - 2000(rebate) = 30,735.80. At least that is what I paid.... Bob.
