So, on a whim, I cruised past the web site for our local car auction site. It's a site run for vehicles impounded by the police, or parked cars that were towed for owing a boat load of tickets and were never picked up. I was looking for a motorcycle or some other project/toy. ANYWAY, long story short, there's and '03 Marauder on the list of cars to be auctioned off. Here's the link. It's the 9th car from the bottom of the list.

The Auction is on March 8th at noon. It's held under I-95 in South Philadelphia.
Here's their main page for the rules and FAQ. Hope someone on here can pick it up if they're looking.

For the collective--any chance you good stop by and get a personal review posted of its condition and particulars--case some folks might be interested beyond that amount of info---Thanks--

Unfortunately, because these cars were taken under less than friendly terms, the lots that they are parked on are secured and not open to the public. I could swing past the lot and try to see if the MM is visible from the street and get a general idea of it's condition. But that's about the best that I could do :-(

Wow, unless you are local you are taking a big chance here. You have to bring a way to remove it, provided you win and can not even fully check it out? Buyer beware unless you could get the MM on the cheap.

I agree...unless you know all about the particular car, bidding is bound to be lowball due to the high risk of expensive problems with no easy way to really check the cars ahead of time. Also, you have to have enough cash on hand to pay on the spot. I'd like to go just to see the "circus".

We briefly considered going to the auction but because of what was posted on the website (and has been pointed out here) wouldn't even consider bidding. Kinda wonder if it's mostly salvage guys, since you can only make an external inspection.

I briefly went to one once. FWIW, if I remember correctly, they open the gates about an hour before the auction and you can check out the car.

looking is only half the battle. you have to drive the car before you purchase and thats not possible at an auction. You never know what your getting into.
