I was running Eibach Pro Kit springs with the OEM struts. Didn't feel they matched up very well. The Eibachs PKs were too much for the OEM shocks, resulting in an oversprung ride- harsh and bouncy. I decided to give a set of KYB Gas-A-Just shocks a try. They went in yesterday and I'm VERY happy with the results. The KYBs are a perfect match for the Eibach PK spring rate. They new shocks eliminate excess rebound, are responsive, and ride great.

Highly recommended for anyone thinking of using Eibach Pro Kit springs or already have Eibach PKs paired with the OEM shocks and are not happy with the ride quality. Its like a new car!

A lot of people do not realize that changing springs will screw up the way they work with the dampers. KYBs are very good dampers. I did not know they were available for the MM. The OEMs are Tokico to begin with but are made to work the OEM spring rate. FWIW I went with Eibach Pro dampers on a Focus ZX3 I owned and they lasted all of a year. I was not a happy camper. The OEMs lasted longer after I conservatively lowered the car for handling, not the slammed look. For some reason I don't mind the OEM look and I have modified the suspension for better handling. However, a MM will never handle like even a OEM ZX3. It was the hardest transition for me 7 years ago.

To bad that Eibach front coil over springs are no longer avalable. Aer the Moog front coil over springs avalable ?

There are still some Eibachs available if you search online. I just ordered another set sine they are now discontinued (thanks for the heads up). I'm gonna want to stick with the Eibach/KYB setup for a long while. Seems like some parts might start to become difficult to find for MMs soon.

That is going to be a problem with a car built only 2 model years with model specific parts and not enough units to generate a aftermarket for things like knock off OEM rear bumpers.

Gentleman,
Can anyone tell me the part number for the Eibach Pro kit, as well as the KYB part numbers needed. Just a thought Does anyone have any experience with Bilstein shocks?
They worked well on my Impala SS, but that does't say they will work here.
Thanks guys
Best

My pleasure. Hope you can get some Eibachs before they're all gone.

where online did you go? I ordered them from SFX Performance and a week later Paypal, not even the company, e-mailed me saying they couldn't fill the order. This is after I ordered the KYB gas-a-just to go with them... frustrating.

My appologies. I actually tried several vendors who liated the part as "in stock" who latr came back and said they couldn't fill the order. There's a poll on the main page regarding a group buy I've helped to push along.

I just replaced my blown front shocks with the KYB's and they work very well with the stock springs.

I have always loved KYB, they are a great shock for the money.

I just installed front KYB with oem springs cut 3/4 coil. This has been the best combination I have put together so far. I wish they were a bit more damp or firm.

Thanks to BizTerp for the info on the KYB shocks. I just picked up a set of brand new eibachs from a lost freight auction for $30.00. I'll make sure to get the KYBs before the install. Thanks again.
