Its been about 4 days since I installed my new arnott compressor I decided to check out the air line, and to no surprise its starting to wear on the washer tank, I'm just wondering what people have done to prevent this from happening, I wrapped the line with some black tape and put some on the washer container but I'm sure its only a temp fix, will the old air dryer work with the new arnott? Thinking about swapping the dryers to get the right angle back.

Put the pump in the trunk, along with the battery. I think I used my old dryer, not sure right now.

Hmm, no thanks I think the ford engineers did a fine job with the placement, I'm sure I'm not the only one on here that installed an arnott in the factory spot. Maybe nobody realizes that plastic on plastic does rub down, idk, I think I'm just going to try the old air dryer.

The reason your old pump went out, is that it sits under the WW fluid reservoir, it leaks out the vent hole, and corrodes the pump housing, or shorts out the electrical. If the engineers dis such a good job, why is the air tube rubbing?

Because the marauder air outlet sits at a 1 o'clock position yet the unit you get from arnott sits at 12 o'clock, and I believe the reason the air pump corrodes is because there is a lack of drain holes for the water to drain out of so the pump ends up sitting in water. I have drilled extra holes so the water will drain and my washer fluid does not leak so corrosion wise I should be ok for the next 10 years. But the air line will probably only last a week if I don't do something about it.

Solved. I put the old air dryer on, no more rubbing.
