Looks like the blend door actuator is next on my list. It's funny cause I bought this car so I could stop working weekends on my car. But this in 2010 alone I have:
Replaced ball joints
Shocks
Hood struts
Tail shaft seal
Rebuilt the trac lok
eatc o-rings
and LCM relays
What's next??

Sorry to hear about your problems. I know what you mean about working on your car. Got tired of it myself.

Owning a Marauder is like an adventure. Fixing a Marauder is part of that adventure.

True, that.

The cars have their quirks, for sure, but that's a part of what makes them special, and the folks in this community are always willing to help out with info and advice to make those repairs a little easier.

Service the trans before that goes south! Pan drop.
Strange that the hood struts went...

After you shake out those bugs you should be good to go for a long time.

The more I think about it, he's right; car is too much work.

He needs to sell it to me for like, eight bucks, and get himself something more reliable... ;)

(BTW, just make sure you leave the dead pedal in it :D )

I'm not looking to sell it but with gas prices going north and reliability going south it may be time to make it a garage queen and buy a gasp!.....small car :(

I have had some stuff go out too....none too painful and not too hard to replace....one item was under warranty:

EATC O rings - did myself
Rear Shocks (3rd set)
Solonoid in trans - under warranty
hood struts - did myself
bulbs in guage cluster - did myself
bulbs in pod guages - did myself, now have real guages
hoses on both valve covers, did myself
Serpentine belt - on 3rd one, did myself
pedals are broke....just left them alone. (would there be a recall on these since so many of us dont have full range anymore?)

Just stuff you wouldnt expect to break down on a 7 y.o. car or is it just me?

EATC o-rings - These shouldn't have failed, I think Ford didn't spec the correct material.

Rear shocks - These are a wear item, how long would you expect them to last?

Hood struts - These should last for along time depending on how many times you open the hood.

Bulbs - These too are wear items. If you replace them with LEDs they would last longer than the car.

Hose on cam covers - These should last a while, but it depends on the heat generated in the engine compartment.

Serpentine belt - These don't last forever and are a wear item.

Pedals - The nylon or plastic gear is broken inside. IMHO a poor design choice by Ford.

Yes Sir...I am aware it is a wear item, how ever I would not expect to be on my third set at 100K

Hood struts - These should last for along time depending on how many times you open the hood.
Hood has been opened plenty...for oil changes, fluid checks and carshows (of which I havent been to too many times)

Bulbs - These too are wear items. If you replace them with LEDs they would last longer than the car.
Yes sir...wear items once again, dont know if its just me...but have never had to replace any bulb on the interior of any car I have owned other than the dome light.

Hose on cam covers - These should last a while, but it depends on the heat generated in the engine compartment.
I guess this is relative on where you live...down here its pretty hot and usually a lot of humidity.

Serpentine belt - These don't last forever and are a wear item.
Yet again another wear item that I would not expect to be on my third with a 100K on the odo. I could be wrong...but I thought this was a 100k part.

Pedals - The nylon or plastic gear is broken inside. IMHO a poor design choice by Ford.

I whole heartedly agree!!

I guess I've been really lucky......over 7 years and 224K miles with minimal problems!!!:bows: At this point I'd fix.....fix.....fix......not worth much on the market and still a LOT of FUN!!:banana2:

I just chalked up around 500 miles since yesterday and other than the IDIOTS on the road had a great time!!

Fix her up and don't look back.......gas price is not that big a deal!! :shake:
