I LOVE mine! Best brakes in any car I've ever had. Do the fronts too. I painted the rears like in your pic myself. I did a thread on it with pics if you are interested.

Make sure to do all new fluid too!

I thought that the calipers that come on these cars suck, but they work just fine!

If you expect it to stop on a dime, TCE SS braided lines are a MUST HAVE!

The stock rubber lines are way too soft.

I thought the drilled rotors were fracturing around each hole and not recommended for daily street use.....

Have we, as a congregation, changed our position on this?

I wouldn't put drilled rotors on my cars. Slotted only.

Drilled rotors are more prone to stress fractures. It is not a given that they will but the possibility exists.

i havent driven the car in over a month, its been on jack stands since early last month, since then i widened my wheels, added metcos, rear rotors, and ceramic pads on all four, and front, and rear addco sway bars, which should be hear any day.

prolly going to feel like some one elses car!:burnout:

I have ceramic pads that came with the rotors.

I have put about 10K on the car since the install. Last time I will say this for the naysayers. ZERO issues.

Two years and over 30,000 miles and MINT. Even the "house" pads still look like NEW. These will be just fine till I have my money saved for Wilwoods front AND back, the only way to go!

But these are a most excellent upgrade over stock, problem free, and at a cost of $199 shipped all four! I bought these because at the time, stock brakes cost more. I had my doubts, but they quickly went away and I have even been able to steer fellow owners in a good financial, economical, and long lasting path. These are not anywhere near the quality of bigger brakes, just a slight upgrade. Not everyone has $3500 for Wilwoods...

Well said Bob. I have been running the Powerslot D/S rotors for about 3 years not without a single issue. They are far better than stock and an affordable way to improve the stopping distance on a MM.

Powerslot D/S rotors
Hawk HPS brake pads
TCE SS brakelines

Where did you get all 4 for $300? Last time I checked, it as closer to $500 for all 4.

I already installed my TCE SS lines. I have the Hawk pads, but my new to me DPB had new pads on it ... so not changing anything yet.

Well mine are actually Race Concepts, but at the time they were the same price as R1 Concepts and I figured the same company.. My company no longer has an Ebay store.

tbone,

It's a late hour and brain is def. getting fuzzy, just want to clarify which rotors you are talking about with the 10K miles: the slotted and drilled r1's as Motown has shown, or some non-drilled rotors?

If you don't mind also, directing me and maybe any others interested to your thread on painting the rotors as Motown did. Thanks!

Slotted and drilled. Here's a pic.

As far as painting, just mask, prime and paint. Use the high heat stuff.:banana2:
