i'm looking to buy a marauder as a hobby car. i came across an 03' black factory everything with 176k. the body, paint, and interior are all in good shape. no problems with the engine/tranny. no accidents. the guy is asking $6500. i don't know whether to jump on the "deal" or let it walk. what do you guys think?

You should listen to your heart. And then do what your wallet says. It's hard to tell if it's a deal without seeing it I guess, but if you like it and can swing it then buy it.

Where's it at?
I wonder if it's my old car, it went to Nashville TN and had about 170 on it last I knew.
If it is my old one I say definitely buy it, it was a fantastic car and very well cared for.

Perfect! Excellent price for a car you're going to work on and build up. That's waht I bought mine for in 09 with 128k.

The miles are still in the acceptable range for sure. Several members are in the 200 -250K range and going strong. Price sounds good if the rest of the car is intact.

Tell us where it is and ask if anyone near by could take a look at it with you.

Sounds like a good deal for a "hobby" car.....

When buying an older used car remember rust is the number one enemy. Unless you are planning to use the car as a winter-only beater avoid rust. Secondly, interiors are expensive to fix. Worn out mechanicals like the engine, trans, a/c or whatever are much cheaper to fix (though still expensive). I believe its cheaper in the long run to spend a little more at first on a nicer condition car.
