Disconnect everything attached, remove the bolts, pull off the intake. BTW... you can reuse the gasket.

It's pretty straight forward, only thing that sometimes causes problems is the EGR valve. Loosen the pipe then take out the bolts and get it out of the way.

Dont forget about the wire harness clip on the back side of it

Yeah, the vacuum lines too. Really I was trying to point out that you need to loosen the EGR tube fitting prior to loosening the bolts. I forgot to loosen it once and pulled out the bolts, then had to re-install the bolts in order to loosen the fitting.

I haven't had one for so long that I forgot what it even looked like! Very easy job I do remember though.

Remove and crimp both coolant lines, the plugs on the throttlebody, the throttle linkage, air intake, vacuum lines, then the bolts around the lid including the ones that go through the black plastic linkage cover. Leave the EGR bolted to the lid, but remove the tube thats threaded into it along with vacuum lines, shield and plugs attached to it. Then lift it off.

Thanks to all for the advise. The EGR was a :censor: but I got it all back together. Cleaned everything I intended to and she is back to a smooth un fluttered idle. Has to ditch the so called upgrade connectors for a set of new factory connectors and coupled with the new Coils, she purrs wonderfully. Thanks again to all for all the advise.

So the coil connectors they sent you were wrong?

Glad you got her running smooth again. Yes - I too do not like the EGR pipe on these cars!

Yep...found a place that sold the factory connectors for 25 bucks plus shipping. Smooth idle, and full power on WOT. Plus she spins the wheels from a dead stop.

Here's how to remove the upper intake without taking the bolts off.
