It's like I have said over and over again about the MM, "For 30K you can't find a better car value."

Sort of a bummer article, though, if you care at all about seeing the domestic car brands succeed. I wish GM and Ford would get off their butts and start really competing with Nissan and Toyota. :depress:

I don't understand why they aren't off their butts yet either.
To me, North American manufacturers are car lovers making cars, and the rest of the world is scientists running experiments. Unfortunately, in the international car market, love of car styling isn't what matters any more.
At least we the have the Marauder as an island in this sea of despair.;)

It's gotta be about more than styling. The Big 3 have to design cars that are competitive and build them properly. Look at all of the complaints about paint on this board. Why can't Ford get decent paint on a car? After 100 years things like bad paint shouldn't be happening.
Just play with the switch gear on a Honda. Look at the number of problems on delivery for Toyota. I love my Marauder and I wish Ford all of the sucess in the world but, what should we ask a buyer to sacrifice to "Buy American"?
One of the telling reasons for Japanese dominance of the car market happened this year. During Ford's annual meeting the leadership constantly promised to "enhance shareholder value". A week later, at his annual meeting Honda's Chairman was asked about "enhancing shareholder value". He replied that if they build good cars the shareholder value will follow.
When Blue Oval News has a document from Ford discussing saving 6 cents per car by using thinner steel in the door beams on Town Cars, I don't see Ford's goal as building better cars.
I wish it were otherwise. I really do.
