Anyone running a 255/45-18 on the front? Wondering if there are any clearance issues.

None on mine so far but I am at stock height, I would like to lower the car though since there is more wheel gap.

It has been done on a lowered MM with no clearance issues whatsoever.

Well in the next month I will be changing shocks, cutting a coil, and mounting 255/45/18's on the front, I'll tell you then. BTW, I run 285/50/18's on the rear.

Thanks for the info. I want to run wider tires on all 4 corners to help with the Auto-X this season. The 255/45's on the front should help a little. I don't have widened rears, so I'll either go with a 255/50 or a 255/55 on the rears. I know I won't have any clearance issues there.

I don't have any clearance issues, and have them on standard rims,I don't drive on the highways, like you do on the track, but I think the 285's really grip.

I have 255/45R18s up front of my 2004 CVPI on 18x9.5" GT500 wheels. No rubbing or clearance issues!

I have them on the front OEM wheels and no problems at all---really noticed the difference the first time when installed--a much wider foot path is noticed as if you upgraded the sway bar---

You will like and notice the difference, feel and handling--a great choice!!!

What brand tire are you running? Tire Rack doesn't list any 265/50-18's when I search.

Running Generals (bought off TireRack) on the front and Nittos on the rear. TireRack doesn't carry Nitto. Another member here was selling his slightly used Nittos for a deal and I couldn't pass it up. Discount Tire Direct carries Nitto and you can either buy from their site or their ebay store which usually sells the tires in pairs.

255/45/18 Riken Raptors were installed on my lowered (cut coils and leveled in rear) Marauder. The tires didn't rub under slow nor fast cornering, the ability to rotate them helped with the tire life, and the car looked great!

285 on the original rear wheels? Any pic of those, as I'd like to have that set up without having to widen the wheel.

There are pictures on here of them, on Adam's car, we bought the same brand, and size, I'm sure he will chime in and put up a photo.

If you go more than a coil cut on the front springs you will have to modify the passenger front fender liner - very easy to do but must be done or liner will crack. Ask me how I know!!

I'm planning to run Nitto 420S 255/55/18 on the rear with the stock BFG on the front as they still have life left.

Does anyone else run this set up or see any issues?

If there's less than 3% difference in the ratio of tire diameter between front and rear, you'll have to turn off your T/C whenever you drive the car.

Thanks. No problem there as I have a 300A. Hopefully the rake will not be too extreme with this setup.

Gotcha, actually I think the car will look good with that set up.

I'm also gonna look at the Falken Ziex Ze912. Heard they're good too.

This is what mine looked like with the exact same setup. In the below picture, there is nothing done to it except the Nittos.
