If there are any welders here I could use some advice on my tig. I bought an Everlast Inverter AC/DC tig. I would like to weld aluminum but I can't figure out what electrodes to use. The aluminum is about 0.030" thick. Can I use Thoriated Tungsten with a point with an inverter to weld aluminum? I just don't know.

My brother recently bought one of these welders. From what I remember he said that he uses the thoriated tungsten, but I not sure.
Try this page http://www.weldingtipsandtricks.com/tig-welding-aluminum.html it has some good info on it. I will try and get with my brother tomorrow and see what he says. I hope this helps.

Ask CBT. He might be able to provide some help.

Do NOT weld aluminum with a pointy tungsten rod, you want a small ball on the end of it. Easy peasy.

Welding aluminum is fun once you figure out how to do it.
Tungsten, ball end, argon, keep the tip as close to your work as possible and watch your heat. I'd rather weld aluminum than anything else.

Looks like I'll need to order some tungsten rods to then. Thanks
