Back from Iraq and I'm taking my Black 03 Marauder into the dealer on 5 Jan to have the trunk lid, roof, hood, and grill repainted. Apparently while it sat at the dealer before I purchased it, bird crap was left on the car for an extended period of time and ate through an area (about a quarter size) on each top surface of the car . I hate to break the factory finish but can't stand to have splitting paint in those areas.

I've read many threads about Zaino products and I'm going to use it once the car is finished.

I'm also moving to Shreaveport, LA in a few months if there's any MercuryMarauder Net members out there.

Best of luck with the move. A local dealer here reapinted my hood, roof, trunk lid, front and rear bumpers. The paint looks a billion times better than it did.

I have been cleaning up overspray and such but it is starting to gleam. No more pimples, no more peeling places, no more factory flaws.

I hope yours comes back looking as good as mine did.

Tom, I do have some swirl marks which are pretty normal after wet sanding and buffing. However, a little clay bar and some Meguiar's #9 swirl remover are doing the trick.

Welcome home Stang!

Let me say though....Zaino or not, the bird poop does it's damage no matter what if left to dry.

Stang: Welcome home:)
Just look the car over real well before you leave the dealer's lot.

Thank for all your efforts in the Mid-
east for the country!

You will like the Zaino's Bros products. Over my many years I have used most everything these products are really the best.

They have a spray (gloss inhancer)you can use for spotting and between washes. It does not scratch paint! Amazing stuff. If you cll them they will guide you to the products you need.

I started with the "show car polish" kit that has the clay bar and the "special effects accelerator". Whole Kit is about 80.00. You use very little of any of their products. I have 10 coats on my MM. I have re-ordered the spray, #2 polish, Glass polish and leather products.

Thanks for the posts...and I appreciate the comments on Iraq, it's good to be home! I will look over the paint job carefully once it's ready at the dealer and expect a perfect product. Zaino will soon follow to keep the shine going!

I'll let you know how it turns out! :D

Welcome Home Stang and God Bless for a job well done. To bad about the move to Shreaveport, LA, we could use more members in the DC area. Well good luck with your car, see if your dealer will pay the difference and let you take your car to some place where you know it will be done right. Best of Luck with the Marauder.
