Is it a good deal?

I found a 03 at a dealer. 111k miles. Looks very clean. Clean carfax auto check oasis reports. One owner. It was a nj car all it's life but they say no rust. It was $10.900 then he said 9900 out the door. I know it's not a good deal but is it about right

I'd get one from further south if you can. 111k would seem to suggest year round driving.

I'll sell you my car for that and it has a ton of upgrades and has been meticulously cared for.

Were you able to get any pics? Where is it in NJ, maybe one of the folks up that way can look at the car for you.

well he took a grand off and said " out the door " thats better than what I've found. About the same milage here goes for 13-14 all the freaking time, it drives me nuts :bigcry:

i think its a supply and demand type thing, in the Detroit area marauders are far more common, in NC not so much, so when one pops up for sale they bring a higher asking price, as you cant drive down the road, and compare it to another.

For $9900 you should have jumped on the deal if the car checked out and looked good.

Yea I did not get a marauder so I got a svt contour. But I was at the drag strip that was only 70 miles from me. And one my 2nd run as most of you seen I did not shift out of 2nd gear (shifter linkage broke) hade to have to car towed home:mad:

Personally I'd stick with a MM for sale on this site from a known Member. Chances are much higher that the car has been properly maintained and loved. 111K does suggest daily usage by an unknown owner. What kind of warranty were they offering? FWIW, I paid $9900 for an 02 Lincoln LS8 with 56k miles on it, in show room condition last year. Of course it helps to know the previous owners, the dealership owners daughter. Love the car, hate the MPG. :(

I believe the rarity of the car for the area plays a part in price for sure. I have only 1 of 2 MMs in my county. For years I had the only one. There are probably a dozen or less in all of central NYS. You should see the sales people going bonkers if I stop to look at another car and I have my Marauder.

They sell for a lot more an ebay. What I find hard to believe is the asking price for
mid milage 50s and 60s K miles. Then you read some of the threads of people having
trouble with there light going on and off, windows don't work or switches need replacing
etc. I would think with that amount of miles you are looking at a repair bill. down the
road a piece. $9900. for that miles is a fair price, but at what cost a little later not years but months away. JMHO, I could be wrong and I hope I am. good luck in your

Russell, you have to remember that these cars are getting long in the tooth, 7-9 years old. That coupled with a low build number of only 11,052 units ever and I see prices probably increasing. A car with 9 years on it and only 50-60K for mileage really has not been driven much. I was averaging 16K a year on mine before I put her up as a DD. I've only put 10K on it since, 6K of that being interstate trip miles. Of course unless I really, really get the must have it bug, mine is staying. I have a death threat from Beep if I even try to sell it.

Well it comes down to this I get this car cause I can find them like this fairly easy. Or wait months and hope I can find one for 11 or 12k with around 60k miles. I don't think that will happen anyway maybe if I look hard for a year and it could be 2500 miles away from me for all I know.

+1 What he said (that's the 2nd time I've said that in 2 days Mr Cheesehead). You said it was a NJ car. Is it still up here? There are several members in NJ. Maybe someone can go put some eyes on it for you. I'd be glad to if it's nearby.

BTW....I've had more problems with cars that sat/low miles over several years than I have with cars I drove often. :twocents:

It was a traded in to a car lot in va then they gave it to auction where a dealer in north ga got it witch is 166 miles away from me so if anyone is closer then me thanks

Well that carfax says one minor fender bender and I will hate to drive 6 hrs to look at it and something is wrong with it. The other one is all clear exc for the auction. Funny thing is oasis report says the rear end went out in 05? What's that about
