I've been busy lately, but I got a little time in with the MM tonight. I'm putting together some parts and maybe by the end of Spring I can get them installed. I need to find myself a nice 62~65mm TB and maybe a Lightning MAF. The fuel delivery was recently redone, I added twin SVT focus pumps and a 3" fuel filter mod.
It's a good time to be N/A there is alot of activity with Mach1 and Cobra guys hitting 350~360 RWHP with stock components. it seems the stock 96 Cobra cams are the key, especially when their advanced 4*. These guys are now moving towards the stock runner lengths on the ported intakes and passing up on the PSRI's
This is a pic of both 96 Cobra cams and my new P&P intake

Modularspeed originally did the port work on this one. I picked it up used and on the cheap.

It was cut open ported and tigged back together reusing the stock base

If you rub that plenum... I hear a Genie pops out! ;)
PS: Doom will not approve internal bling!
Are they installed yet? :) Take pics
musclemerc, are those rwhp numbers with auto trans or manual trans? Does that rwhp number mean a 400hp engine?

You are correct J.Bo all you have to do to figure out BHP is add in the 20%loss through the drivetrain
Like i said it's a good time to be N/A. Personally I would be OK with 325~340rwhp and still make Bolt on Champion with a MM. I may have to finally bite the bullet and get a set of 4:10's and maybe a slightly higher stall.
Start checking out: corral.net, moddedmustangs.com,mustangevol ution.com, and mach1registry.org for some info on what the N/A guys are doing.
Look for threads with these guy's they all have alot to offer the N/A 4V world. Nick McKinney, Modularspeed, NA SVT, and Roy are pushing the N/A agenda and are more than willing to help with any questions

I have the same cams and cam timing, but alas, my intake is stock. :(

How did you install them Massacre? Advance or Dot-to-Dot?
On a side note if your patient they are out there, you just gotta search high and low. I ended up getting the intake for $400.00 shipped and I helped the guy find some turbo parts for his build.

I'm not understanding what this means ^^^^^

I'm not understanding what this means ^^^^^ Did you install them in the stock position (like the old ones were, in other words) or did you advance the timing?
Musclemerc, please start a build thread when you dig in on this. I'd like to stay N/A (especially b/c my car has 102k on the original motor)...this might be just what the Dr. ordered...

That lower intake looks fantastic! Congrats on the deal. With the 96 cams don't you need four -- Or are you only going to do the intake side?

Travis, the Cloyes cam gears are dot to dot. The dot on the gear is stock, the extra keyways allow retard or advance in 1deg increments up to 4 one way or the other. Each degree keyway being your new "dot". Easy peezie!

Thats the plan, I gotta get a few parts to finish the wish list, then I can finally get a dyno tune

I know, with the gears we can go -0- and advance/retard 4* in each direction. Did you see the post on SVTP.com? The guy did a cam swap with the front dress in place. I'm buying 4 sets just incase if the stock chains are off more. If I dont use them I will sell the other set to someone else.

Oh OK I see now. I advanced the intake cams 4 degrees.
110 degree intake centerline
114 degree exhaust centerline
No adjustable gears, just did the "grind the keyway" method on the primary cam gears, and used the B-head intake cam gears(no integral key).

I am really interested to see what numbers you will put down!

Very nice.
I have FordNut's ported upper/lower plenum and larger TB.
For perspective, here are the numbers he put down on his then-N/A Marauder:
Data from intake install:
Dyno pull after ported intake installation indicates no change in hp or torque at the peaks. Actually, no change from about 5k up. However, it picked up about 50 ft-lb of torque from 3k-5k. At about 3500 it was putting our 275 ft-lb. The AFR was not affected. This pull was just like the "before" pull, just strap it on and run it. No tc lockup program, no tuning, etc. I wonder what it will do with a new tune?

Looking forward to seeing your results.
