It was aired. I watched it on TV when it came out.

Little to no advertisment didnt help with sales on our cars for sure.look how they advertise for most new cars compared to the marauder.

Ford doesn't spend a lot of ad money on low volume cars like the MM, TBird, or Lincoln LS.

Can't say I blame them since that's not where their big profits come from.

(GM's no different. See any Corvette ads on TV lately?)

I saw this roadtest when it was first aired. Unfortunately, it was one of the reasons that I didn't buy the car. After reading all the frequent references to "Musclecar" in the auto mags, the "*****cat" comment just didn't sit right with me.

As much as I enjoy the handling and performance of my LS, and cruising in my TBird retro (every spring when I take the hardtop off, it's like getting a new car again), I'll always have a bit of nostalgia for the MM and the Mercury brand itself.

Maybe 0-60 in 7.5 second would have been OK.

Thanks for posting that. All the YouTube scouring I've done never turned that 1 up before.

True, but if you go back and search for Aug/Sept 2007 threads and read some threads that came out of The Woodward Dream Cruise, you will better understand how decisions were made at Mercury. Suffice to say that Steve Babcock explained the Marauder's situation and the how they came to cancel the program.

Actually, there are a few Corvette ad down here (ZR1 Rocketship + a few other general GM ads that feature the vette prominently). Guess it just depends on where you live and probably the time of year:beer:
