New dude

Hi everyone! I'm new to the forum, and maybe soon new to Mercurys. A little backround on myself, I LOVE cars! I have had a bunch since I started to drive. I live south of St. Louis. I see a Marauder at a dental office in Arnold all the time an it is SHARP!
My wife and I are adopting a newborn coming up here in April and my current toy, my 2003 Corvette convertible is going to go. I was originally going to look for a 1996 Impala SS (don't flame me for that) I had a 1995 before and loved it. I thought though I would look into a Marauder. They always looked sweet, I always liked them, just never been a non GM guy. Times have changed. Just like me selling my Vette. If I'm going to be toolin around in a four door, it HAS to be cool!!
I'm glad to be here and hope to be talking to you folks a lot. Awesome site. I hope to be in one of these sweet rides soon.

Marauder is DEFINITELY the way to go!!! Good luck with your search and if you have one before October bring the car & the fam up to Hershey, PA for our annual Marauderville!! :D

Hey, no flame! I was looking for a 94-96 Impala SS when the Marauder was first introduced; and in talking to others, they considered that also, or were coming from a SS.

So you get no flames here, they're similar cars....but the MM is better! ;)

Welcome to the coolest site and the COOLEST car, (when you pick one). No doubt about the "cool" factor. Sure there are faster 4 doors. But you'll see 20 or more of that car before you see a Marauder!!

The SS is cool, no doubt. It's big & safe, it's got your 'vette motor and mods are plentiful....

BUT

it's also 16+ years old. Any decent 1 you find will likely cost about as much as a cooler, younger Marauder. Hey, maybe someone in here might be interested in trading you for your 'vette? (er, not me...I got 2 little boys. A Corvette would do me no good. Cool car though!)

I got three far sears in mine. Today at daycare/preschool I was asked if the exhaust was stock. When I answered in the affirmative, they were very surprised that a car would come from factory that sounded that nice. It put a smile on my face.

Take your time, find the right one.

Thanks for all the welcome comments!! I really did love my SS. But I would like the six year newer car also. My wife and I like going to car shows and I think having a nice rare car would fit right in. The Vette has been a lot of fun but pulling up in a rumbling four door could be just as much fun. My new little guy needs to be exposed early in the car game!
