I know that our alternators put out 130amps under full load at high rpm. My question is what do they put out under full load at idle. Do they drop down to around 60 like i've been told or do they remain constant at 130?

Yes they drop down to a much lower output at idle. Output is on a curve relevant to rpm. This is why short trips aren't good for bateries. They don't really get much of a chance to charge the battery fully.

As stated, alternator output will vary by RPM. 130amps is the maximum output.

ok.... because my local alt shop is willing to replace my stator with one capable of 200 amp but he told me that at idle, amperage will drop below the original 130. I just wanted to make sure that sounded right to everyone else.
