I went to Spring Fever at State Capitol Raceway near Baton Rouge, LA.

There was a good turn out of Super Comp and Pro Comp. Hard to find a pitt spot.

I primarily went to try out a new shift schedule on the 1-2 and to monitor the IAT now that the ambient has gotten high.

I pull in the pitts and there was a guy who has a Corvette that ran a 10.6 with a Vortech in January 2010 when I ran 11.5.

My first run for a Time Trial was against a pick up. The ambient at the track is 95* and 53% humidity. I ran a 12.3 to his 13.4.

The 1-2 is still off so I make an adjustment for the next time trial. This time I line up next to a red late model Charger who has all sorts of "stuff". The lite goes green and he gets a slight lead cutting a .044 R/T to my .075. By the 60' I have closed most of his lead with a 1.867 to his 2.011.

By the 1/8 mile I am .465 ahead. By the traps I am .6121 and I can see him in the rear view! To top it off the 1-2 appears to be rite on.

Due to the heat and time I left after this run.

The Corvette with the Vortech ran 11.3. I was ~1 second slower than him when he ran a 10.6 vs my 11.55 and today I am still ~1 second slower. The heat has affected both of us the same amount.

At the end of the track the IAT hit 167* at the MAF. This tells me the PCM is probably pulling max timing. The actual IAT was lower. How much lower is the question. The IAT is at the MAF which is before the Meth Jet. MAF does not like to get sprayed with Meth.

The next mod is to mount an IAT2 after the Meth Jet that gets read when the Meth is sprayed. The IAT2 will then get a true IAT reading.

The lesson is if you are running high boost and it's hot outside you had better run race gas or install a Meth system.
