In the last day or two..... I can get on MM.net and participate here 5% of the time now. Won't load 50% of the time, has gotten slow as molasses 25% of the time (I finally close it out), and get "web site not responding" the other 20% of the time. Wazzup?

I have these problems on no other web site. I am on DSL.

Late last week, Logan announced an upgrade to a new server that would take place over a period of time. It was my impression that he was going to time the transition for low use hours, so most of us would not be inconveinenced. I too, have felt some restrictions on my access. In some ways this site is better now, other ways worse for the time being. Give it a few days, I am sure it will all smooth outm and for the better.

I've seen one or two of my posts disappear, but that's it. I'm using cable.

For those who might be having issues. You or your ISP have got stale DNS entries for the site, which is causing the problems.

My best suggestion is to:

A) Clear your browser cache. Reboot your machine.

B) open up a dos command prompt and type: "ipconfig /flushdns"

C) Open up a dos command prompt and type:

C:\>ping www.mercurymarauder.net

Pinging mercurymarauder.net [205.214.85.192] with 32 bytes of data:

Reply from 205.214.85.192: bytes=32 time=93ms TTL=50
Reply from 205.214.85.192: bytes=32 time=91ms TTL=50
Reply from 205.214.85.192: bytes=32 time=83ms TTL=50
Reply from 205.214.85.192: bytes=32 time=97ms TTL=50

Ping statistics for 205.214.85.192:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:

C:\>

Take note of the IP Address, it should be 205.214.85.192 and your response times should be sub-100ms.

Failing that, your ISP may not be refreshing it's resolver cache as often as it should.

If anyone continues to have issues, they can feel free to email me at logan@mercurymarauder.net

The new server has been smokin' fast, but I don't have much control over the ISP's you use to get here. :(

Also, if you can't get in via mercurymarauder.net, you can also try mercurymarauder.com

They both resolve to the same server.
