That's gonna cost some bucks to fix. I heard the crowd saying the wheel came off, but it looked to me like he lost it and spun around and hit the curb.

Heard that too, maybe he meant that the wheel came off AFTER hitting the curb. He must have left the lot late - it was almost empty.
It was a twin turbo 1000+ HP Gallardo Lamborghini

Looks like he gunned it a little early still be in the turn with that much power.
Hope it wasn't a rental

That isnt the first Gallardo from that company that has been wrecked. I'm sure it wont be the last either....

Not horsing around, but on icy roads, I did the exact same thing! Spun a 180 and hit the curb with my passenger rear tire and snapped the axle along with shifting the rear end over about 3-6 inches. Total cost was around 7800. I am sure this will be a lot more! Glad he was ok. Nothing worse than a bruised ego after losing it trying to show off a little.

I did the same thing in a parking lot with my first Mustang, trying to showoff, the backend swung around on me and hopped one of the concrete barriers for parking spots, coming to rest on the frame.
Justbob was with me, and lifted it off while I backed away, and there was no damage except a couple of scratches on the frame underneath. I was lucky.

Looks like he went almost to the other side of the road. You can see where he tore up grass and dirt @ 3:06+

This would have been better if he'd slammed into another Gallardo, it may have helped with the fugly design those cars have. But it does suck anytime a hotrod gets busted up.

I think the last video was more of a win than a fail. He ended up with a 360 in traffic and no accident. Dangerous and stupid... YES! FAIL... Naaaawwww...:D

Say what you like, but most of us have been in this situation. Foolin around with/in cars....... Most of the time it turns out ok, sometimes (like here) not so well.
Have seen this car at events around town, and have spoken with its owner on more than a few occasions, and he seems like a pretty decent guy.
Its unfortunate and embarrising that this happened. I have never seen him "show out" previously with this car though he has had opportunity to do so. My guess is he learned his lesson.

Nope!
The worst feeling ever is when some guy in the crowd videotapes the entire wreck then posts it up on YouTube for EVERYONE in the world to see!
