"Elena Ford Charged With OWI, Child Endangerment

FERNDALE, Mich. -- A Ford Motor Co. executive was arrested Sunday night and charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated and with child endangerment.
Local 4 has learned that Elena Ford, the automaker's director of global marketing, lost control of her 2011 Ford Explorer at about 10 p.m. Sunday on Woodward Avenue near 9 Mile Road in Ferndale. The sport utility vehicle jumped a curb and traveled on the median, then went back into traffic, according to a police report.
Police said Ford was pulled over and failed a sobriety test before being arrested. Her 11-year-old son was in the vehicle, police said.
Ford's attorney confirmed the arrest and said it is a private matter and that Elena Ford will make a statement about it when she is not busy taking care of her family.

this is her first dui, so she will likely get a slap on the wrist (probation) ,and alcohol counseling.

Not in Michigan. They are very strict there. My brother in law got into an accident while drunk, first offense, and was forced to stop drinking for a year, among other things. He has to blow 3 times per day!

Not in Michigan. They are very strict there. My brother in law got into an accident while drunk, first offense, and was forced to stop drinking for a year, among other things. He has to blow 3 times per day!

No offense but your brother in law probably doesn't have the cash, connections and the ability to move more car plants out of MI. Just saying:)

In NYS its a felony to be DWI with a child in the car. As Mr. Man said, she will get all the justice she can afford.
