Most of us run Steeda pullies, they are better than the others on the market. The 2 piece and piggy back pullies are the ones to stay away from, they will destroy the oil pump from vibration. None of us have had a problem with the Steeda's

Not hijacking. Just wondering if pulleys from any mustang with a 4.6 work? Or are they specific to the marauder

IIRC, not Marauder-specific, see p/n's musclemerc posted and then do a cross-check.

Set your tune to bump up the idle 200-300 rpm and life is good.

I guess I'm out on that. I have a xcal1. I can't change my tune

It will only charge low at idle with the lights and A/C on. At any engine speed above idle the alternator will charge normally.

^^^^^ and that can easily be fixed by bumping up rpms at idle in you tune. ^^^^

Nope but if your belt has never been changed and has any cracks in it you should just go ahead and change it. The belts are $10-15 and go with Goodyear Gatorback. Just one of those cheap insurance things. I always carry a spare with me.

I already have a Gatorback thats why I asked. lol Didn't wanna have to change it. Does the tensioner just pic up the slack then or something?

You use the factory belt. Even with the different pulleys the stock length belt is good.

What if you can't bump up the rpm's?
My XCal2 won't let me do anything but load a tune. Can't adjust at all.

Contact whomever did the tune. Either they can make the change or they can send you a tune that is unlocked so you can make changes.

^^^ well let's just say that may be very difficult, as he's not welcomed by many on here anymore - I won't give names.
But for my other tune...I'll give that a shot when the pulleys happen.

Ya I thought "he" was over there.
I don't think "he" even deals with the emails regarding tunes anymore. I could give it a shot though.

I did not have a very good experience with UDPs. I went through an alternator and somewhere in the league of 3 belts with them on. Also, factory belt size didn't work for me, I had to get a larger diameter belt.
I very highly suspect that I was an extreme exception to the rule, so take what I say with a grain of salt, but if you do have problems, expect those to be it...
Just installed mine tonight (Steeda 701-0004), took less 1h, everything was straightforward. Didnt had to play with the idle, voltage is perfect.

Check it at idle with the A/C on. Mine is a bit low since my last tune because he didn't bump the idle up enough. I plan on making a call soon.

What he said. ^^^^^^^ I'd be real surprised if voltage doesn't drop at idle when you kick in the A/C.
Also, are you still running the OEM gauges?
Drop only by .5 so i dont touch it. 13.5 with A/C at idle its perfect for me.
* no i dont run the crappy looking OEM, I have replaced both by Autometer Phantom II serie. http://www.autometer.com/cat_gaugeop.aspx?sid=59

Yeah but your (in-drive) is lower. Try putting it in drive with your foot on the brake with the A/C on and watch the gauge. Mine sinks to 12-12.5 volts with a 700 RPM idle.
This is actualy how i have tested it, but i just took a look at my tune with my X3 and my idle is set to 700, so i didnt remembered that. I tought i had it set to stock speed. My bad :hide:
