I've had a 98 Vic for about 10 years. Its a great car but it has a lot of miles so it was time to get a new car. I thought about getting another one but I found a Marauder in Massachusetts for a good price so I flew there from Toronto and bought right away. Now Im a proud owner of a Marauder. I'm still in the US because I have to wait 72hrs to export the car. I loved driving it from Massachusetts to Niagara on the highway. I will never forget that drive.

I knew I was going to have to wait 72 hours tto export the car but I didn't know it was 72 business hours. But I booked 1 week vacation from work just in case I needed extra time so I'm ok.

Thanks. I will definately post pics next week when I get back to Canada. The only thing I don't like about it is the 1st owner painted the Mercury grille emblem and trunk emblem black. I don't mind if he wanted to black them out but it looks like he used a paint brush and paint instead of spray paint so it looks really messy and sloppy and bulking with paint. It doesn't really matter though because I want to buy the gods head emblem anyways.

Tell us a little about the car.

The first original owner was from New jersey. The owner I bought it from was from Massachusetts. He has an all chromed out Impala never driven, a few Corvette's and a Hummer Limo. He said said he loves the Marauder but never has time to drive it. I'm making time to drive it. I'm driving it everywhere here in the US. Around my hotel, up and down the street! It's parked outside my hotel beside an orange Corvette. I think it looks better then the Corvette. I'll take a pic a with my phone and download it next week because I don't have the extension cable.

Thank you to all the Panther owner's for the warm welcome and for rejoicing with me. The Marauder community is awesome. The owner had a limo pick me up from the airport. When I met up with him he played me messages from people saying they wanted the car badly. But he was extremely patient with me and waited for me to come to the US when someone local could have bought it. It wasn't about money for him. He had integrity and is a good guy for trusting someone from the other side of the boarder. He really didn't want to let it go but he said he has other cars and doesn't need it. It was hard for him to say goodbye. I love driving in the US. I drove in the left lane from Massachusetts to Niagara Falls the entire way and 95% of motorist got out of my way. In Canada only 5% of people get out of your way. It is the law to get out of the way? Is it illegal to drive in the left lane? Is the left lane only used to pass or will you get a ticket? I just can't believe how almost everyone actually cleared out of the way.

WOW, that was cool of him. If he knew the lengths you were going through to get the car, I'm sure it made him feel good to know it was going to someone who wanted it badly. He knows it'll be in good hands
When I got my MM, the previous owner actually dropped it off at my house. He admitted he'd probably regret this someday (soon!) but he was young and was going for a Grand National. He drove away slowly, looking back often.
Congratulations on your new, cool ride. Enjoy and have a safe trip home! :coolman:

Thats sounds just like him. He also kept looking back. I wanted to drive away so fast before he changed his mind. Im still thinking he might be calling me back anyday saying he wants to buy it back. I promise I will take care of the car like its a baby. A Grand National is nice but I don't know if it can top the Marauder.

The Marauder is a cool car, no doubt about it. It's no GN, but a GN is no Marauder. Both awesome cars in their own right.
If he does call you back, trade him for 1 of his 'Vettes! ;)
....just kidding. I have a feeling you'll have that Marauder for a while. Enjoy!!!

They more than likely thought it was a police car. :D Especially at night when all they see is the lights and silouhette. The left lane is typically the "passing lane". For those moving along faster than others. Most parts of the country, people are nice enough to move over to the right lane to let faster people pass. It's courtesy really. Drive safe!

lol thanks! Each car is cool. Even if I did trade him for a Vet I would sell the Vet and buy a Marauders.

Yep, they definitely though you were a cop. It happens all the time when Paul (Blackened300a) and I drive it on the expressway.
Oh and if I were you and I saw the owner's # pop up on my caller ID, I wouldn't answer. As a matter of fact, change your # so he can't ask for his car back! Lol :D

lol change my number. American's are very courteous. I have a black Vic and few people get out of the left lane in Canada. I'm still shocked how many people got out of my way. Well I can't blame them I was driving way too fast. I got way too carried away. Now I have to slow it down.

I'm not sure if the car has any mods yet. I just don't know what to be looking for? Today I went to Mighty Taco in Niagara Falls NY and a guy came up to me inside and since I was the only one in there he said that must be your Marauder. He asked me if I had Ford racing gears. I said I don't even know I just bought the car 2 days ago. He told to his friend has a Supercharged Marauder with 4.10's and told me I can check under the car and there should be a label or something telling me the size of the gears. I know the engine is pretty much stock. What else should I check for?

Even if the gears have been changed, the tag on the rear end will still say 3L55 (3:55 gears w/ Traction Loc). I know of no one who has changed gears and has also changed the tag....... because there is no tag for a Marauder with 4.10 gears. You can raise the rear of the car, mark the tire and mark the drive shaft, rotate the tire one time and count the revolutions of the driveshaft.

I'm still here in the US for 3 more days so I wanted to go to Auto Zone or Advance Auto and buy stuff to do a tune up because its so much cheaper than in Canada and we don't have those stores back home. I was thinking of getting spark plugs, ignition wires, pcv valve, and a fuel filter kit. Are copper plugs the best way to go? I would appreciate any suggestions on what else I should get before I go back?

Use OEM or Autolite 104 plugs if no mods. No wires, the engine is coil on plug. Shoot DragCity a PM. He is not far from you and my guess is his car is the one the guy you ran into was talking about. Great guy and I'm sure he would be willing to help you out if he can. Whats with the three day hold up on reentering Canada?

Thanks again to everyone for the warm welcome. It feels like I just got married especially since Im at Niagara Falls. I will look for Autolite 104 plugs. I will send DragCity a PM but I dont thinks thats the guy I met was talking about because he said he owned a Blue Marauder. I want someone to check the car for any mods because I really wouldn't know what to look for. Once you email the VIN Make and Model to the Lewiston Bridge Vehicle Export Office, you receive an email repsonse saying you have to wait 72 business hours to export the vehicle from that moment on. I don't know why I have to wait 72 hours though?
