well, think again...

ordered an aftermarket bumper from pershing/USAuto parts painted and shipped for about $550.

got the bumper and well i was beyond pissed! :mad2:

1. the bumper will not fit the car, no matter what, it is too small for the
car. there are major fitment issues and in no way will it fit on the bumper.
The bumper looked a little smaller but i thought it was all in my head.

2. the fog light holes are not round, they are mis-shaped.

3. upon taking the bumper out and beginning to mount it, i noticed that there
is a crack on the driver's side near where corner light would be.

4. the fog light cant fit the hole, the hole is too small (both sides)

5. The fog lights are missing 2 mounting points on each side. the bumper has the top ones but is missing the bottom 2.

i waited for the damn thing for over a month with a messed up bumper, now i am without a bumper and this POS taking up space in my garage. they said the owner would get back to me on monday after reviewing the pics i sent to them.

im just really upset. and now i have to deal with an airbag light and i am just hoping its a fuse from wiring in the fog lights and having the battery off for a while while i was working on it.

so now what the hell do i do? i contacted an ebay seller to see if i can buy a bumper local and have it painted but other than that i am stuck without a bumper. :(

Sorry for your mis-fortune. I still have an OEM bumper for sale..... with fog lights, if that will help any.

What happened to your stock bumper cover? Was it trashed? The local shop quoted me $500 to pull mine, sand/refinish and re-install. Lifetime guarantee.

Yep. Insurance companies want to use that crap on all of their claims. 60% of the time its junk.

the stock one i was using for a custom project but it didnt work out so i ordered a marauder bumper as a replacement. the bumper was a good 2 inches too small in height at least not to mention other crap that was wrong with it

I'm surprised and sorry to hear that. I got an aftermarket front cover from carpartswholesale and it was near perfect, only had some casting flash that needed to be sanded before painting.

Sanco, the actual bumper that is under the cover will have to be cut on both sides to clear the fog light holes. I ran into this problem when i installed minez. As for the foglights, There ARE only 2 holes at the top. The foglight sits in a bracket that mounts to the 2 holes and has a dog leg kinda deal where it mounts to the cover.

That's the way my OEM one was, as well as the aftermarket one.

(the fog light, not the trimming)

You just have to shorten the inner bumper to clear the foglight holes. And the brackets you need for the foglight are like 15 bucks a piece at Ford. (If they still have them)

well thanks to 04clone for clearing it up

marauder bumper is NOT a direct swap for 03-05 MGMs, it requires cutting the bumper subframe in order for fogs to clear and requires an additional brackets for the fogs.

Looks good!
I think those wheels look great on your car. Probably my second favorite next to the OEM marauder wheels.

So I guess the original post in the thread should be "Aftermarket Marauder Front Bumpers Aren't a Direct Fit to GM", but then again OEM Marauder bumpers probably aren't either...

Now that you know how to install it, is it still a POS?

I swapped the nose without the bumper on a 00 cvpi and had to cut nothing
