View Full Version : EATC or BCM: Blower fan stopped

My blower fan started running on low speed no matter if I selected the high fan speed on the EATC unit or steering wheel. I tried turning it off and on with no luck changing the blower speed.
The next time I started the car, the blower fan quit working no matter what temperature or vent/fan speed setting was set. Does this sound like the EATC unit o-ring issue or the BCM module? I couldn't find any post with anyone describing issues with the fan blower quitting.
Thanks for the help!

BMC
Try tapping the BMC, if the fan starts working it's the BMC.
FYI...
If the A/C or heat doesn't come out the vents it's supposed to, the EATC o-rings are shot.
There is a replacement proceedure for the BCM on this site. Also there is a repair proceedure for the BCM.

Could be a ground wire issue as well.

Thanks for the replies! This is one of the best forums I have been a member of. I tapped the BCM and the blower fan turned on! I'll replace the BCM when Ford is open tomorrow. Thanks!
My fan just quit working too. Where is the BCM located and what does it look like?

tap on the blower motor housing on the rt side side under hood in the back. All 3 I have had did it at one time. But after tapping on housing they worked again and never had a problem since.

Thanks to ixlr8 for taking the time to document this!
Tomorrow, I will install the new BCM and let you know if it resolves my issues. Thanks!

Replacing the BCM resolved my issue ....so far the blower motor works without issue. With only two bolts to take out and unplug a wire harness it took about 1 hour due to the lack of space but way better than paying someone else to fix it.
Thanks everyone!
