Looking for EATC module in working order, my o-ring repair did not fix mine. If anyone has it available or knows of where i can find one it would be so greatly appreciated since mine is blowing out heat and temps are rising fast here. Thanks a lot.

You sure it's the EATC and not the BCM. what's it "not" doing?

make sure the out side temp is not reading -40 if it is you only get heat. Check the connection for the gray and black connectors. I had this happen two time when I rebuilt 14 eatc unit this past week end. Russ

I believe that your temperature blend door actuator is no good.

so far the outside temp is accurate, will check the black and gray wires this week. When i plug the unit back in i do hear a lot of noise fom the duct work but still haven't tracked where exactly.
As for the symptoms: i can control fan speed, i can choose all options for vent/defrost etc. but no matter what option i choose it still blows out the floor and defrost (even with the unit off or unplugged). Cannot control temperature or a/c at all. Is this sound like the bcm? thanks for everyone's help so far and please keep it coming. I don't want to buy a new unit if that won't work either. But if it needs to be replaced then i will take the options provided here. thanks again and ready for the next step.

No shutting blower off at all, and no control of temp, just heat, which blows harder with rpms which i know happens but sucks when i don't want it.

If you unplug the connection closest to the driver (I believe it's the black connector) does the blower shut off? If yes, it's an issue with the EATC, if no, it may be a grounding issue.
BTW, see post #4 above, good price for a used head if you need to get a replacement.

It sounds like the o-ring issue, but since you've replaced them, I assume correctly, you may have a vacuum leak. These systems have a "fail-safe" mode. When you lose vacuum the system goes to heat / defrost mode so the windows stay clear. Check all the hoses under the dash and in the engine compartment, especially the hose that goes to the vacuum tank (the flat box on top of the inner fender, driver side).

Would it be worth checking out your o-ring job one more time?

I will check the o-rings a third time to be safe, and do the unplug tests, although last unplug i did seemed to not change the results of the air blowing. I appreciate the help though. Will check for the vacuum leaks and see. My guess is the actuator or new unit. My luck usually includes time and money when it comes to the MM. Will post results over the weekend.

Don't feel too bad, I ended up going through three used EATC heads before I got a replacement that functioned 100%. Even with that, still a bunch cheaper than buying a new OEM replacement.
If the o-rings are good, and you have vacuum, listen carefully when you cycle through the various operational positions, it may well be the blend door if everything else seems to be functioning correctly.

I found a leak in the solenoid still, tried replacing the o-ring again but seems to be leaking from the foam padding they have inside. So back to searching for an eatc unit if anyone has one, the one in this posting had been sold already. Thanks for any help....

I am looking to get a eatc module too. Mine has the -40 code on the outside temp and will only blow cold air if set at 60.

If you have the -40 on the outside temp that is a concern with pin fit at the back of the eatc control head or open in the wiring to the sensor or the sensor. If the control head does not see the circuit or correct resistance from the sensor then the -40 will display. Recommend to inspect the wiring or pin fit or sensor for concern.

got the eatc unit in, the replacement I bought, and now have control of ac, bit it is reading 92 when it is only 74 and back to blowing only through defrost and vent. at least its cold. so what's the next stupid step I need to take?

Read my last post in the tech forum regarding the EATC, its in the EATC repair thread. Use the fatty fat O-Rings lubed up, read it because the part I posted shows you where you may have gone wrong.. The O-Ring simply seals the vac actuator to the plenum pipe, a minor leak and it won't work.
