We landed at almost 4. 335 miles in 5 hours. Not bad considering cruise was set at only 5 over, plus all the traffic! Well, my foot did slip at "the tunnel" :)
Thanks a million Mike, we had a GREAT time!

I won't drag it out, but she's used to driving her Escape Hybrid, which is not extremely responsive to the throttle. So anyway, she get gets all buckled in to the Bluesmobile, adjusts the mirrors, etc, and puts the car in reverse to back out of the parking stall. When she backed up it up, she gave it WAAAAY to much gas, got rattled, and then did the same thing when she put it in drive.

My wife rarely uses profanity; not so this afternoon. ;)

After getting gas pedal pressure figured out, we got moving, and rolled out onto the merge ramp but we were just puttering along, so I told her to step on it to get up to speed so she could get into the traffic flow. She complied, but perhaps with, ah, a bit more "enthusiasm" than I would have in the same situation. (As in forced downshift and rpm kick-up to about 3,500.)

After she got the car straightened out, we went about 55 mph until she got to the next rest stop. She pulled into a parking spot, got out, and told me I could drive the &%$#@ car the rest of the way home...

I don't think she enjoys the Eaton swap as much as I do... :dunno:

Congrats to all the organizers for another successful year.

Circumstances did not allow me to participate as much as I would have liked, but what time I did get was great.

Good to meet some new friends and spend time with some old ones.

You are really missing out if you have never attended this regional meet.

Until next year...:burnout:

After a excellent lunch at Rocky's, and chasing that Shelby a couple times, I'm sure that Mac enjoyed the grin on Mary's face. We stopped off at Brown County and Simmons Wineries, and picked up a case at each. Then my co-pilot found a Coach outlet store, well... enough said! We finally rolled in 45 minutes ago.

Once again, Mike and Charlotte, another memorable weekend is in the books! We had a blast! Thanks again.

Also, Thanks to all for the card, and especially Chris and Gordon for the American Honey, and I can't forget everyone that contributed to the LCR pot. :2thumbs:

Dear Folks,
Paula and I are still smiling and reminiscing about the wonderful time that we had this past weekend. We thank all of you for being so nice and friendly to us and welcoming us so warmly into the "Marauder Family." We want to thank Mike and Charlotte for all of their hard work in putting together such a great event. I also want to thank Mary, Dennis, Chris and all of the other sponsors and contributors for helping to make it a truly memorable weekend. We are looking forward to participating in more Marauder events, you folks are just great!

Marauderville IX is only a "short" 26 weeks away!

Best regards,
George and Paula

Mac and Lulu are safely tucked in for the night.
My long overdue post to the "Made It Home Thread."

Where do I begin....

I had a blast and didn't want the weekend to end! Y'all made me feel right at home. I truly appreciate the extended hands of kindness and friendship, and acceptance of me with my limitations.

It was a real treat for me to get out on the road and be able to bring Lulu with me. A very BIG thank you to Bunny and RF for making that possible!! (I bet Bunny still has that ear-to-ear grin on her face from piloting Lulu the 300+ miles back to Chicago!)

This group of people is really the embodiment of the True Marauder Spirit! I may not own a Marauder (at least not now, anyway), but having owned three Marauders, I know the passion people have for the car that brought us together but more importantly, the friendships we have forged by getting out and meeting each other. It was very special to me to renew friendships and make new friends too.

Extra special thanks to Charlie "Mongoose" for going above and beyond, in the restaurant parking lot, on the ground, in the dark, to work on Lulu. Worked like a charm!

I'm still very limited in my ability to type posts but rest assured, when I'm able to, I will be posting again. I look forward to many great gatherings ahead. I will see you at Marauderville 9, if not before!

Y'all be safe, eh?
Mac.
