Has anyone tried the BFGoodrich Radial T/A 245/55R18 tires? Mind that these are not the KDWS g-force tires. I just ordered a set, couldn't pass it up, they were only $82 a tire.

Thanks, now I have to find some pepto to get rid of this sick feeling in my gut. Not being in the U.S. and a very "limited" connection while in the middle of the ocean it's a little hard to keep up with all the great info that is posted here. I'm goiing to try and get my order cancelled.

Sorry, Shawn...:o
Hopefully you can get the order cancelled.
Best bet for the rears is 255/55/18, will still work with the T/C and lots of tires available. Most are listed as high perf SUV tires, but don't let that scare you off.
Nitto 420s
Goodyear
General Grabber UHP
Kuhmo
Hankook
All of the above are being used by folks on the site and are providing good performance.

I still have the Michelin 255/55/R18's for sale slightly used...I have a set on the rear of my MM..(I bought a set of 4) I was able to get 2 stock tires for the fronts...150 for the pair..

While there's nothing inherently wrong with the Radial T/A version, it's not a Z-rated tire like the stockers and the sidewall is consequently much more wobbly. I wouldn't match it with a set of Z-rated tires on the front or you'll have an increase in oversteer. Not the safest condition...putting them all around would be better.

Hello,
Has anyone tried Kumho Ecsta STX KL12 in 255 55 18.
They say, The Ecsta STX is engineered to provide extreme performance in all-seasons, providing all-out wet and dry handling to SUVs and light trucks that has been previously reserved for passenger tires. Any reviews would be helpful. Thanks

I run the STX's on the back, ASX's on the front. They handle great and are speed rated by me up to, oh....., alot.

Are you able to pass a DTR? That ought be good for about 76 1/2 mph on the top end...

guys/gals,
If I run 255/55 on the rear with the stock fronts will the rake be excessive?
Thoughts/Opinions?

Jstevens-no I have that setup and as do most members here. Car sits fine just a lil bit wider tire. I run Nitto NT850 front and rear and I love em.

Thoughts/Opinions? You say that like it's a bad thing. :)
I run 235 in front and 285 in back.
Win...unless you have traction control, in which case you cannot run that much stagger.

I liked the rake of mine with the 255/55/18 on the back and OEM 235/50/18 on the front. Just didn't like the Goodyear Eagle F1 DS-G3 tire wear on the rear. I had to replace them at 15K.

Well, after much research I will be pricing the Nitto850, Nitto420S and the General Grabber UHP. I really like the tread design of the Grabber UHP's.
