I bought the Dupli-Color Hot Rod Primer that was suggested for the interior paint and was not satisfied with the color or the flat finish at all. So I decided to paint the switch plates black, seeing that there is a lot of black trim in the car. I like it.

Opinions?

Pics did not upload - hang on.

Not too shabby. I don't know if I'd know it wasn't oem at first glance.

In this pic, see how the vinyl is coming loose under the handle? I tried gluing it but it popped out again. Anyone have a fix for this?

I agree that they look better than the chipped stock look. The black looks good, but I don't know if it is for me.

Did you do anything special to prep them before you applied the paint or was it just a sand and spray?

+1

You did a nice job tbone, but I'm an OEM-look kinda guy.

I hear ya. I'm thinking I might try a metallic grey.

I primed them with that dupli-color primer that didn't match.

It looks pretty good for a color change...it matches your seat controls pretty well if you ask me. Good job

I asked my buddy (who is hyper critical of everything) about it and he said it looks stock. You really have to see it in person. It stays.

It DOES look good, the black isn't bad by any means, just that my preference would be a lighter color.

I just received a can of the SEM graphite, anxious to see how that looks.

What did you do for prep work on yours? (i.e. light sanding, chemical wipe down, etc.)

I think it looks great! I'll probably give it a go tomorrow
