Who is interested in a set?
I want to gauge the interest, if there is enough I will gladly play middle man and get these made up for members here since the local exhaust shop that makes them doesn't seem to be interested in shipping them out.
$325 a set (plus 4% for paypal = $338) plus shipping via UPS Ground or FedEx Ground (if requested). I get a 5% discount at UPS for shipping.
Will also accept Money Order.
Several CAMmers are running these tail pipes including myself. Pics on Natehawk's thread.
http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=55510
They will still include the two band clamps to join the two pieces together but there is no exhaust hangers so you will have to fab/weld your own on or have an exhaust shop install the tailpipes and set everything up for you.
I'd like to do 5 orders at a time so not to overwhelm the exhaust shop and I don't think I could carry more than that in my Taurus. lol
1st Run:
Krytin (possible pick-up)
CobraSVT657
vkirkend (maybe)
ntd (requesting shipping quote)
adtaylor (requesting shipping quote)
Possible shop install:
AConvertedChevy
Once I have 5 people confirmed 100% I will then collect the monies just for the parts and figure out shipping. I would guess $30-60 maybe on shipping? Not so much the weight but the size of the box.

I'd be interested. Since I'm local, can we cut out the shipping and arrange for a pickup?

Very interested!
I like the price but am concerned about shipping and having them arrive w/out "extra" bends. I would be willing to make a trip down from NY and pick-up more than one set for people in the NY area!

Maybe a CAM member heading to Carlisle could drop them off to you.

Yep I have no problem with that, can even skip paypal and mail a money order.

I would ship them UPS ground insured.

I just got a new gas grill from H/D shipped by "Brown" - that's what caused my concern in the first place!
UPS in my area appears to have a real hard-on for over size packages. They like to see how much damage they can cause because they don't like handling them.
I may need them before Carlisle though.

I could ship FedEx if you wanted as well. I get a 5% discount at UPS so that's why I normally use them.

I'm going to have a set made up this week or next week to figure up weight and box dimensions for shipping so I can give exact quotes on the shipping.

Honestly, you should come down to Mandrel Bending Solutions and have them do the whole exhaust from the headers back. Since the Slayer still has stockish mid section. Just a thought.

Yeah you are uber-anal and my 8-9 hour wait was well worth it. I still need to get those flanges done sometime soon.
Talked to Greg (malibuguy) a little while ago, they are booked up for the next two weeks and would take about a week lead time to get one set of tail pipes done at the moment.
Those who are local and want to get theirs installed, I would suggest calling Greg @ 410-360-7105 to schedule an appt and discuss what exactly you want done.
Malibuguy would like to a run of 5 sets at a time to make it worth while to set up the machine and all. I think that's fair enough.
First five confirmed people I'll lock in for their sets, pm me for info.

Currently their is no "kit" per se, but "malibuguy" would be making these at MBS.

Cool - Greg seems like a good guy who does a great job. I saw Dooms install and they are very nice. I'm interested but I'm going to have to wait for next year. I've spent a lot this year! He should make a few extra so they are sitting there ready to ship- Have him add it to their website.
Nice to know there's a good MM exhaust mod to be had! I've got a loose over the axle pipe.. ;)

They have a fairly small shop and don't keep much pre-bent stuff stocked, mostly make stuff as orders come in. Just let me know when you are ready and I'll set it up for you.
Edit:
Updates in post #1 and #28.

I actually did not do Dooms exhaust initially, my coworker did. however i did correct his tips (as much as i could since everything was already welded in place)

Thanks for the info Chris. I definitely want in on this, but I'm probably going to have to push it to the June/July/Summer timeframe. I've got to save up some cabbage to make this a reality. Got a couple of loans/credit cards I want to pay off by May.
I'm definitely going to give your buddy Greg a call just so we can chat about my application, what i'm looking for and what kind of budget I can squirrel away for this.

The only thing I am trying to set up is the tail pipes. I am not sure if Greg at MBS would do a mid-pipe without having the vehicle there in person.

if there is enough demand, i can make a full on kit...however soo many people are running different things up front, from stock manifolds, to mid-length headers to long-tubes...
X-pipes out perform everything else in most cases...but each car also has different mods, thats why every x-pipe i do in house is designed for the purpose/use of the car
usually i like to do a real, true merge x-pipe
heres one on a BMW Z3 M-coupe thingy, its in place of the factory resonator
http://mandrelbend.com/library/BMW%20Z3-25.JPG
i have designed & built a kit for '92-'97 crown-vics & i had to go with a apex style x-pipe, which when done cleanly, is a pretty good performer, but not as good as a true merge, but better than magnaflow x-pipe. This style x-pipe is easier to reproduce for a kit (another reason why i choose it.

Since our supporting vendors represent other exhaust systems, Dennis Reinhart offering Kooks and Stainless Works representing themselves, for this thread to continue, to be fair, Mendrel Bending Solutions needs to become a vendor. Greg, please PM me your email address and I will send you the vendor pricing information.

If people want more than just the tail pipes then yes but no other vendor offers just the tail pipes themselves. Not trying to argue or anything cause I'd like to see MBS become a vendor and be able to offer their great work to our members since it would benefit both parties.

Negative, since SW is a vendor here. You can still contact Greg at MBS ( 410-360-7105 )and have him make the tails and install them. I wonder what a stock exhaust would sound like with the tailpipe section just upgraded.

Yes i was wondering the same. MY only concern would be VA Sate Emissions, but I just passed and am good for another 2 yrs, so let's get the exhaust work done now! lol

Upgrading the rear section won't affect emissions neither will the rear cat delete at least with the car computer. Visually shouldn't either since you can point out it has the front cats but I don't know how strict VA is with emissions.
