Question Regarding Marauder for Sale

Hey guy i finally hit the jackpot and found myself a 2003 Silver Birch with 73,000 miles. The car is BONE STOCK!!! The guy let me drive and inspect the car and its very tight and quick. Now on to the questions, the car has no dents, dings, accidents, or scratches. The only problems he ever had with it is the rims(stock marauder rims) would corrode around the lip and cause the tires to lose a tiny bit of air. The guys said he had Belle Tire wire wheel them or whatever they do about 2 years ago. He has no idea if it is happening again but he was gonna put some emery on them this year just because. Her want around $12,000 for the car and i am gonna offer $11,500 just to see. Can you tell me if this is a good deal or no? Thanks, Trevor

10k 11k is a fairly good price. You can always go up on the price

12K is a bit high for that amount of miles. I think asking 9.5 is a bit insulting if the car is clean and everything is in working order. Between 10K and 11K would be where I'd set my limit. In my mind I'd start at 10K and add $$$ if the car comes with a trunk organizer. Add a little more for a spoiler. Make sure the adjustable pedals work and if it has heated seats make sure they get warm on both settings. Check the inside wear on the front tires and the center rib on the rears to make sure they aren't worn out. Tires are expensive and if they are needed minus $$. GLWS. Tell us how it goes.:)

If the SB MM has been well maintained and in great shape. BUY IT!!! $11,500 sounds very reasonable.

Ah i have some bad news..my dad came to look at the car and we found out the owner had driven it constantly through the winters and it had started to rust on the bottoms of the doors. He did have them repaired but it isnt a permanent fix. We are afraid to pay $12k for a car thats going to rust soon. :(

Well, keep looking, your car is out there somewhere; be patient, you'll find it.

This happens frequently in salt use states. See if you can find out how much an auto body shop would charge and then offer the guy 12K minus the repair costs. You will have a legitimate point to stand on. If he doesn't want to sell wait for the next one to come along.
