Questions Regarding Marauder for Sale

Hey guy i finally hit the jackpot and found myself a 2003 Silver Birch with 73,000 miles. The car is BONE STOCK!!! The guy let me drive and inspect the car and its very tight and quick. Now on to the questions, the car has no dents, dings, accidents, or scratches. The only problems he ever had with it is the rims(stock marauder rims) would corrode around the lip and cause the tires to lose a tiny bit of air. The guys said he had Belle Tire wire wheel them or whatever they do about 2 years ago. He has no idea if it is happening again but he was gonna put some emery on them this year just because. Her want around $12,000 for the car and i am gonna offer $11,500 just to see. Can you tell me if this is a good deal or no? Thanks, Trevor

Never heard about that problem with corrosion on the rims.

I've heard of that happening with aluminum wheels. I never had it happen to me and I have had aluminum wheels on many of my vehicles over the years. But I have heard of it.

If she's clean and you're happy with the car as a whole, go for it. I agree with the above...I'd offer $11k. Say you did your homework and found others around for that price or less (it's not really a lie ;)). Got a Carfax? May be worth the few $$ for peace-of-mind. Good luck!!

I have it happen with the wheels on my excursion. The thing spent its entire life in Minnesota salted roads, and the wheels are shot. Basically, last time I watched the tire guys mount my tires they took an air sanding wheel to them to clean up that rot... At first I look like :eek: and asked WTF they're doing to my wheels, the guy explained...
