Curious as to how many Trilogy guys have modified the FRPS to see boost. If so, what results did you see. What did you change in the tune? I am thinking about doing this seeing as I have the top half torn apart. This would be the perfect time to do it. Thanks for your time.

IIRC the FRPS mod is for a car with a stick shift.
Why not go to a tuner and have the values in the tune changed?
Have you done a 3" filter upgrade? This may be a better option.

I think you two are thinking of two different things

Not sure what the stick shift one is. I am thinking about changing the vac line that goes to the FRPS on the RH fuel rail to see boost as well as vacuum.

Then you talking about a vac line mod not a frps mod.
With the frps mod you open the FRPS sensor and swap out the bladder to allow more fuel flow to the sensor.
On a stick shift car the frps see's a serious drop in pressure between shift's, Kenne Bell came up with the frps mod to addresse the issue.

It's been out forever!

Actually what he is talking about is a very good point, the early Trilogy's FRPS was never boost sensitive it only saw vacuum, the article is in my forum and shows exactly how to fix it, there is only one port at the back of the S/C that sees boost you have to T off of that, the other issue is there was never a IAT mounted in the lower intake, it used the IAT in the Maf which was wrong because it sees only out side temperature it does not see the raised IAT generated by the S/C. Jerry fixed both of these issues on the later kits and I also show how to do this mod in my forum, if you do both of these mods the car will need re'tuned and the car will gain over 30 RWHP and be much safer to drive.

My mistake in the original posting. I was refering to a vacuum routing not a modification of the FRPS.I was unaware that it was out there forever as previously noted. I did do search, I thought I would ask for some current opinions / views on the subject as the search didn't provide the information that I was looking for. Sorry for any inconvenience this may of caused.

As for the FRPS mod from Kenne Bell, it is actually a flow restrictor disc that goes under the FRPS. The problem is that the sudden transitions in throttle and RPM create spikes in fuel pressure. They are not a problem for the engine or injectors, but the spikes are high enough in pressure that it blows the FRPS diaphragm. Then the sensor quits working and sometimes it even lets fuel go directly from the fuel rails through the FRPS, to the vacuum line.

I thought it was bad to put that lil restrictor disc on our cars.
I have one and never put it on.
(I remember reading in an older thread zack saying NOT to put these on our cars!) Anyone please correct me if I'm wrong.

So is this mod only for sticks & automatic s/c ?

Does anyone know if the TwinScrew is affected by this or was it fixed?

Kenne Bell sells it to go with their twin screw kit. I don't see how it can hurt anything. It will not work with aftermarket fuel rails, it just drops into the bottom of the fuel rail. I believe Zack said to not buy it because it is a very high price for a washer.

I've never heard of this mod. The FRPS I have sitting here doesn't appear to come apart easily.

Thanks for the response.
I'll put that disc in when I get home.
