I have 2500 miles on my new marauder. This has been more fun with a car than I have had in 33 years. I like it just the way it is. Some muscle with creature comforts. Oh, yes 33 years ago my fun car was a 69 mustang mach 1, 428 ram air cobra jet 4 speed. $4,300. Ted

fun is right! I 've only got 600 miles on my MM and getting on the interstate this afternoon to go to the next exit I gave it a little more over into the third lane and just held it there the way I used to with the old Vic, and --MAN! I was at 100 MPH --Boom! had to let off and it wasn't even hardly finished with third gear-- FUN it is just the way it is for now--may do something later, but for know--just getting use to its handling --been a long time since something this quick ---

Ted,
I had a '67 Mustang 390GTA. It was a lot of fun, but I like my MM much better. But then, I'm 50.

Hey Modular46---being 50 doesn't mean anything negative--I'm 55 and love it just as much---our age only means we've probably seen the earlier stuff that some of the younger folks haven't -- and it feels good to have some of it back ( from the stock version) again....

I traded the mach 1 for a 72 chevy impala 4 door sedan. Go figure? However that was a long time ago and times were different. By the way, I still have the original sales contract for the mach. I am 56 years young with my new marauder. Just last week I tried the 117 cut out. It sure did shut down, but thats probally fast enough for top end. No tickets in 25 years, but I am now checking out other cars at the stop lights. Love this car, Ted

Being 50 just means I remember when Edsels were new. My '58 Anglia was only 10 years old when I bought it. (Even my foreign cars were Fords).

After 25 years of chasing "fast" cars and driving cop cars well past their intended limits, I have to tell you guys. My MM scares the **** out of me. If I had to chase one, I wouldn't. This car can beat Motorola.

Through hard work over many years I have been fortunate to have owned 3 vettes, 64, 79, 97, as well as 66 chevelle 396 ss, 95 porsche 996 as well as a 99 viper rt/10. None were as practical as my new marauder---of course i am 55 now but still a nice ride.

My first Car was a 81 Plymoth TC3 Miser. Audi slope back Herizon, $300 and was ORANGE!!
Then cam a 88 Festiva. At 6'3 and 300lb, it was fun peeling a car off me.
After an altercation with a station wagon and losing, I got a 76 Monte Carlo, and my first taste of Detroit steel. The emmistions inspection went like this.
::Pop hood:: "You fail."
If I new half what I know today, I would still have it.
Then back to a new 92 Festiva (Good cars atually)
Then to a pos Ranger to a Neon.
Now, I am back in iron. It's good to be back!

Well!!!! the 69 mach 1 was my last muscle car, so I guess I will mention the first. In the fall of 65 having just got out of high school I bought what was the fastest street car I have ever owned. It cost about $3,100. This was a 1966 GTO. It was all go and no creature comforts. This car was a hardtop with an am radio, 4 speed trany, 3 duce tri-power carbs, llimited slip diff., red line tiger paw tires (which only lasted about two months). No air, no steering, no power brakes. It steered like a half ton truck, but run like a striped ass ape. Went in the army in Jan. 66 and my dad sold it for me after I left. Thanks for the replys to my thread, been interesting and fun to read. Regards Ted

I am 67 years old, have owned 54 Mercury PI, 56 Ford PI, 57 Ford PI, 62 Chev w/HiPerf 327, 69 Chev PI(427), 76 Olds 88 w/Perf pkg(455), 89 Mazda MX-6GT(TC), and now the best of bunch overall, the 03 MM. It is the best all around vehicle I have driven, my 69 Chev was undoubtedly the fastest of all but was lacking in some other areas. I am proud to be a part of bringing Marauder back in style. Wish everyone the best with their vehicles.
