I HAVE a lidio tune, jlt, flowmaster 40's with recently cut out rear cats. So I bought magnaflowhighflow cats for the front and was curious as to what are the sound, Hp/tq increase so I would know if their worth the install ?

The high flow cats will perform best with a larger diameter X or H pipe, but deleting the rear cats will help.
I just had FRPP shorty headers, high flow cats, and a Mac Pro-Chamber mid pipe installed on my car and picked up 27 rwhp.

You blown guys always see big returns on exhaust improvements. Wish N/A cars could see similar gains.

03mmmonroe had SW LTs, cats, and custom fabbed pipes installed on his N/A car a couple years back, and I think he picked up somewhere around 30 hp with a dyno tune.

Damn... You got around to getting the exhaust done? How do you like the ProChamber?
Sorry for the highjack. Yes, high flows are worth doing. You will not be disappointed

I cannot rec Magnaflow Products. They admittedly made defective Cats. They refused to replace mine becasue they were out of warranty.
A defective product is defective regardless of any warranty. You etiher stand behind your product or you don't.
In this case Magnaflow did not stand behind their product.

If you have the rear cats deleted don't bother putting on new cats. You need to have the front cats removed as well then replace with two high flow magnaflow cats on a larger dia piping. The biggest restriction is the small piping on the overall exhaust the the cats.

Yup. Finally was able to coordinate timing and schedule. Had the work done at Mo's right before the KY meet.
Love it. Deeper, richer tone, but not excessively loud, exactly what I wanted. Thanks for getting me hooked up, Travis.

Aside from cost is there any down side to using a double free flow cat system like OEM? As I understand it the double cat system is more for start-up emissions when the car is cold but once it warms up they become redundant. I just wondered because States are getting so picky about emissions testing would they ever think to look underneath the car and note only one cat and fail you even though it's possible to defeat the computer with the right kind of set up with one cat?

Well, they'd need to know that the car was equipped with a double cat set-up as OEM, which prolly isn't too likely unless the emissions tester's a gearhead.

What do you think duel cat's would do for the sound? I'm thinking on an aftermarket exhaust system.

Exactly! How much h/p t/q from this ?

^^ It all depends on what your getting done.
Here is an example of a full midpipe swap with high flow cat's, an X pipe, and mufflers

What are you trying to do? Just a cat swap? Cat swap with 2.5" midpipe swap?, Cat swap with 2.5" midpipe swap and a X/ H/ or Prochamber? Add mufflers? What?

I'm running shorty headers, high flow cats, rear cat delete and a 2 1/2" Mac Pro-Chamber through the stock mufflers, with res-delete tips, not loud by any means, but deeper, more resonant tone than OEM. That's exactly what I wanted.
May go to aftremarket mufflers at some point in the future, but for right now, I'm enjoying the quiet exhaust; the only thing I can hear when I mash the loud pedal is air intake and whine...
