Hey guys,
I've decided to sell my 2004 DTR in search of more speed. I've seen a lot of really crappy for sale ads that don't have a lot of info and skimp on the photos. Those ads give internet sales a bad name so I'm going to do my best to set a new standard or at least make you feel comfortable about making your purchasing decision. I'm not here to scam anyone and I'm going to make sure I lay it all on the line because we're all enthusiasts here and these cars are really cool.
That being said I'm posting a few photos below, but you can check out a 72 picture album at this link:

About The Car
The car was originally purchased as a joint venture between my father and I during the summer of 2004. The car came off the lot from Capital Lincoln Mercury in Matteson, IL with 75 miles on the clock. It had every option available: sun roof, 6 disc changer, trunk organizer, & heated seats. The car was kept in my father’s garage and well maintained until I went to college to get my engineering degree.
I brought the car to school with me for the first few months, but after realizing it was going to get destroyed I brought it back to the garage in Illinois. It stayed there for the next four years only being driven occasionally by my father or myself when on vacation. During the 2nd summer I had the factory mufflers removed, installed the SCT Chip, T/A Diff Girdle, Metco Air Tube, and had the windows tinted. In the 3rd year I had the car it was driven a few times in the snow and then put in storage for the winter. Then for the final semester of my senior year I rented a house with a garage and brought the car back to school. After graduating in 2008 it became my daily driver and saw one full winter of use. The car was still garaged and well maintained (washed etc…) during this time to avoid typical mid-western salt damage. Then in the summer of 2008 I moved to Texas for a new job and the car came with. It was my daily driver for a little over 1 year and kept in a garage before being replaced by my new daily driver. The car is still garaged, has been thoroughly detailed, and now only ventures out on dry sunny days.
Overall the car is in fantastic shape and I would challenge anyone to find a cleaner example with such an anal retentive owner. However, being a daily driver it did pick up the standard rock chips, scrapes, and dents, but being the anal retentive owner I’ve had most of these fixed and you can tell by the photos it looks practically new. The details of damage are as follows: during the college years the back bumper got sc***** on the driver side and the rear quarter panel was the victim of a gravel driveway burnout. The front right rim also got some minor curb rash which is hardly noticeable unless you really look for it (I’ve included photos). The paint damage was fixed in 2007 by my good friend Matt of Matt’s Auto Body in Crete, IL (I have the paperwork too). He does fantastic work and keeps a garage of show cars to exhibit for his customers if you are ever in the area. Matt knows the car well and can attest to the quality of care.
Then in Texas the car became victim to rock chips on the hood, some scrapes on the front bumper, and a nasty dent on the same rear quarter that was just repaired. The hood chips were touched up, the front bumper repainted, and the quarter fixed & painted by Panel Beaters Body Shop in Fort Worth, TX (again I have the paperwork). Panel Beaters was recommended to me by SpeedTek Performance off 121 for those of you who know the area and they turned out to be an awesome crew. Long story short, Ronnie of Panel Beaters also does excellent work and is a fantastic guy. He knows how well the car has been taken care of and can vouch for my attention to detail.
I also want to point out that most of the service work was performed by me until I moved to Texas where that was outsourced to Randall’s Automotive. I always used Royal Purple products when servicing the car myself and Pennzoil Full Syn. when at Randall’s. I have all the paperwork from Randall’s. These guys know the car very well and can attest to its superb condition. Any of the work I performed has matching receipts from Monarch Auto Supply in Chicago Heights, IL. Matt Armstrong and his crew know the car well and can vouch for its maintenance record as well as the attention to detail. It has never been raced or even dyno’d.
