Sorry for the delay folks.

I have literally tried every product out there and I believe I have finally scored.

My system:

1. For scratches, wet sand with 2000 grit paper using a block then proceed to step 2.
2. To remove the heavier swirls and light scuffs/minor scratch's use 3M's liquid rubbing compound with machine and wool pad (not the generic wool covers)found at Autozone.
3. To remove the compound scratch's use 3M's perfect-it line swirl remover (color coded blue) with their blue perforated foam pad. (This will have to be purchased from your local auto paint and supply store. Ask for a discount because web pricing is normally WAY less on these and most stores will not have a problem coming down some. I purchase all my paint, paper, and waxing needs from Terrace paint supply in Villa Park.)
4. Although it now looks AWESOME, you are not done... To get that ultra deep look, move on to Mequiars NXT tech 2.0 wax. WOW is that an easy product to use!!! Ask Brandon as he helped me remove it. Simply unbelievable. Directions say to wax entire car and let dry, then remove with microfiber towel. (I recently tried the yellow ones from Menards and I can't get over the quality of this towel! And for a whole $1.50 each, you can bet your wife I will be going back to buy the SHELF of them!)
5. For smaller areas, I highly recommend the 3M scratch repair kit with drill attachments. Perfect for the hard to reach areas!
6. Have a smoke, and some beers!

This is a whole day/2 day ordeal. Better plan on just learning some tricks and completing at another time. Also I HIGHLY recommend you tape off your car! But what the hell, it's your car, not mine... I normally buy the six pack of 9x12 elcheapo plastic tarps from home depot and a roll of 3/4" and 1 1/2" blue tape. As for the buffer, mine is only a Harbor freight unit and it works just fine. Hopefully someday, this will be getting upgraded, but not now.

Daddy doesn't wash his car. That's what the car wash is for. I've got too much back pain to do that once a week. I get it washed then I detail it myself at home which is usually once a year.
