I just got home from picking it up. It was not exactly a fun trip. We got North of Gainsville, FL and was stopped by a Florida State Trooper. I was told the window tint was too dark and I did not have a tag for the car. I informed him I just paid for it. I handed him my drivers license while my wife got the bill of sale and insurance papers out of our truck. The State trooper was nice and we talked for a minute about the Marauder and he told me about the ones they used to have. He went back to his car and came back with a warning ticket for not having a tag. We went on our way and got to Georgia. We were in Turner County and of course one of turner counties finest sherrifs pulled me over. He was rather gruff and said my window tint was too dark so the lousy SOB gave me a citation! So the rest of the ride home I was not happy. So I am happy and upset! Now I get to add another Marauder to my list.

Well at least I know for a FACT that it went to a good home with good people and will be well taken care of!

The Florida trooper gave you a warning ticket for no tag and the Georgia Deputy Sheriff gave you a citation for window tint, correct?

Dark window tints are a sure fire reason for "da law" to stop someone which may lead them to find something more serious.

I would make the tint legal or be prepared to harvest more tickets cause your driver's license number is now flagged in two states.

Even though warning tickets don't affect your insurance they are logged into various law enforcement data base's and they stay there forever.

Don't take it lightly. I work with the Sheriff's Department in my Parish and I listen to the deputies radio calls when they make vehicle stops. Prior citations, warning or otherwise, are relayed back to them, as far back as 1990's. FWIW.

I also understand about the citation but it sure is sad that a Florida State Trooper was nicer to me than my own states sherifs dept. I plan on getting the tint replaced but wanted to get it done by someone local so if there is a problem I can take it back and get it fixed.

I work at a sheriff's office full time and a muni police department part time (both in Ohio) and we don't have anything like that. The only records we have are local ones, or any Ohio in-state convictions. And if you were only warned on something, we don't get any of that info. It would be nice, though...

I've been pulled over three times out of state (SC, VA, TN) - received warnings in all instances, I can tell you that there are no red flags on my record from any of those traffic stops.

If they're in a database, Ohio doesn't pay into it.

It sounds like Ohio is pretty civilized. I have to call the county Monday morning to find out what is supposed to happen next I guess. the ticket does not tell me much. But it does upset me that it will go on my record.

I have always had 5% tint on all my cars. I get a ticket Maybe twice a year, I pay it and move on.
I wouldn't worry about it being on the records. I probably have over ten of them.
