We have those cameras all over California. I actually don't mind them myself -- course never received a ticket either, I stop. However, I also do not run a front plate as required by my local state ordinance -- never liked the look.

Sorry wasn't implying that. Kinda a bad day as I waa speaking to a work acquaintance. She informed me that the reason she does not have plates on her two year old mustang is so she can run red lights and not pay toll on the Bay Bridge that she commutes across 5 time a week. She just blows it every morning. That is just dishonest, then I saw your thread and reacted ... Sorry bout that

obey? i obey but these cameras aren't about obeying laws, it's about makeing money on the back of the working man as usual. please don't tell me you haven't went through a yellow light and it turned red when the last inch of your car passed. that's what i'm talking about. i'm not some notorious red light runner. so i guess you always do 55 or what ever your state speed limit is when your driveing your hotrod..not. i haven't had a violation in 20 years till that camera. guess your like most people taking any s**t the government dishes out. not me. IMO. of course.

They sell a rattle can of stuff that make it nearly impossible to photograph ones plate, when the flash goes off the plate turns into a white blur.

Has anyone used this stuff to work. Our town here has cameras. You can roll 12 miles and under through a red light turn. Next town over says to come to a complete stop.on red light turn. Confusing enough to stir up many townhall meetings about their $300,000 revenue increase in 30days.

Mythbusters did a whole episode on those so-called license plate obscuring devices, from sprays to "special" covers, and found that NONE of them work as advertised.

FWIW, any plate cover in NYS is illegal.

Same here in North Carolina. In fact you can't have anything the covers any of the information on the plate....... including a frame.

Im running smoked covers on the front and back and cops dont even look in my direction in this car. They got rid of the light cameras here in VA because people were slamming on the brakes last minute and getting rear ended.

Yep, I saw that episode. There are speed cameras in several areas around me. They are clearly marked, everyone just goes the speed limit through there and that's it.

In fact 300,000 went to our town.100,000 went to the state and 100,000 went to art or ads whatever the redlight camera company is. Out of the 300,000 to our town they have to pay retired or off-duty officers to review the tapes. Still enough money to build our new city hall that they plan on. But they have to sell bonds to pay for the additional property to build on. They had a town hall meeting last month. People from two towns on each side of us vowed to not travel or shop at our stores because of the inconvenience of people.slamming on their brakes when the light turns yellow. Additionally they vowed to stay completely stopped at a right turn red light until it turned green regardless of traffic behind them. They said if the cameras were install for safety and you still had runners bringing in revenue of that kind of money. They wanted to ensure their safety by staying stopped on right turns regardless of their allowance of 12 miles per hour and under. What ended up happening was they did away with right turn camera but kept red light runner camera. Tickets are 258 each. This was in february. No word since then. Just drive slow when u come through. Safety my ass. They want money. That's like.bush saying they had wmd. Wmd my ass they wanted oil.

The one you get in my town is $50.00. No points on your license and insurance doesn't go up.
Just use stolen tags.

That is unbelievable. 258 for red light. 160 something for right turn.but no more right turn camera haha. No points on insurance either here. My uncle is a chief of police in CO. He says revenue is the goal. Now it is up to the city to spend it correctly. Logic would be to spend it on law enforcement to justify pulling cops off of red lights and on to actual crimes like child crimes and assaults. That is there biggest amongst the force concern believe it or not.

Its all about the money these days. The hot rumor here is that the NYS Police will become the NYS Highway Patrol. Pay them less, train them less, make more money for the state. The average joe blow trooper makes over $100k per year here.
